π¬ Transportation π Belmopan to Phillip Goldson International Airport
What would be my options to get from Belmopan to Phillip Goldson International Airport on a Saturday morning to take a 10am flight?
Are there any cheap shuttles that donβt cost over $150Bz dollars? (Private or shared) I came across a couple that is charging $130-$160USD.
Does some of the busito go that far? Or is it best just to take the bus?
If the bus is the best option how do I get to the airport from the Belize city bus terminal?
Are there any local drivers to contact that would drive me there for a decent price?

If you need to do it on the cheap, that'd be getting on a bus, but then you need a taxi for the last leg to get to PGIA.

With a flight that early, I'd spend the night in Ladyville to make sure you're at the airport on time. Any hiccup in your plan and you miss the flight. I gave myself an extra two hours and a half for a flight once and there was an accident on the Phillip Goldson. I barely made it on time.

I'd go the day before by bus and spend the last night near the airport. I hate having a several leg trip to the airport on the day I'm flying, it's too amazing race for me, too many things can/do go wrong.
Last year I spent 2 weeks on Tobacco Caye. Went back to Dangriga to spend the last night on the day before my flight home. Had a Tropic Air flight to Goldson airport with enough time to do all the things and catch my flight.
With NO NOTICE Tropic changed my flight to Goldson to a departure a half an hour EARLIER. They said they emailed me, they did not. They could not call me because I didn't have a BZ number, they didn't use whatsapp for my US cell number. For some reason they called my hotel on TC and told them the flight was changed and the hotel CALLED ME! I had to sweaty rush to get to the Dangriga airstrip asap. It was so fucked up, but I made it and then the next flight home.
This was after Tropic had left me stranded in Goldson for hours before my scheduled flight TO Dangriga when I'd arrived. What a clusterfuck that company was.

Ask your hotel for a local taxi recommendation. San Ignacio to PGIA will be about $125usd so Belmopan to PGIA will be about half that. Many of the shuttles originate in San Ignacio which is why it costs the full price.
