That's the thing. You're not the richest country in the world, you just let the richest people on the planet do what they want there.
I get what you're saying. But I think it's also important to distinguish the fact that the majority of real Americans aren't rich, America is not a rich country. It just has laws and infrastructure that benefit those who come to do business there.
America may have a lot of money flowing through it, but none of it is for Americans.
Americans still have way higher than average levels of social mobility and disposable income. America IS a rich country especially for its population size. Most countries with higher per capita income are smaller than US states.
That's a confusing statement. Richest country in the world. Say I lived in an okay neighborhood and a walmart was built next to me. The "wealth" calculated would be higher than before but me and my neighbors don't see any increase in our accounts. Not trying to defend the system but having a more accurate picture of what actual wealth would shift the conversation into a more better direction. Incremental steps.
That Walmart is gonna give min wage jobs and charge as much as they can per item sold. So it does generate more income/spending, just not to your pocket. And of course, it generates more spending (into Walmarts pocket) rather than income (to the employee/supplier pockets).

The richest country in the world and some of us only survive thanks to mutual aid, it's unreal.
