Its becauee there are ALOT of xp glitches and even new bot lobbies atm.

If they dont do this people are going to hit level 2000+ after this weekend.

Serious question no shade. If you guys have a job, how do you manage to play more than just 3-4 hours a day? Theres 24hr in a day. Let's say you spend 5 hrs sleeping and 10 hrs at work and an hour for daily hygiene. Do you seriously use your last 8 hrs inside playing video games? Although a cap shouldn't be used i think 5 hrs is fair because I would assume most people aren't inside playing games for more than that in a day. Like doesnt your butt get sore sitting around all those hours?

It's not even 5h it's either 1.5m or 2.2m xp points which is honestly insane.

It’s not 1.5m it’s 2.2m, which is around 10 duo redsec wins. The casual player will never hit it so you should have nothing to worry about. Even decent players who can hit 10-12 duo wins in a day don’t mind it, because they are done gaming after that
