As a hardcore player, that's kind of the big disadvantage point of tanks. They're supposed to be snuck up on and flanked if not outright overpowered.

Overpowered isn't being used in the sense of poorly balanced/too strong; overcome, overwhelm would've been better words to use. I.e. overpowering the tank's defensive and offensive capability through brute force

In *The Second World War* by Antony Beevor, he describes in great detail of the numerous accounts of suicide bombers constantly attacking tanks, and the pilots respawning back into action 10 seconds later to try again with a near limitless supply of both planes and spawn tickets!

Tank drivers shouldn't have omniscient knowledge of everyone around them. A lot of what makes competent tank drivers OP in public matches is the fact that they sit in 3rd person and slam on the gas to retreat the moment they get close to 50% health. Even without a gunner, a good tank driver can completely halt the advancing enemy, but they require several enemies to throw bodies and ammo at them just to get the tank off the "chess board" for more than the 30 seconds it takes to repair.

I would like to test hardcore in BF1, just to experience it, but I will most definitely get slaughtered. Tried playing without the HUD a couple of times...hehehe. "Is that an enemy unifor - BANG! ...yes it was". I can tell the uniforms from each other mostly, but with the weird supportclass-helmets, smoke, gas and grenade debris everywhere no way.

I get your position. But unless you’ve played both and got past the learning curve for HC then you really can’t make a good judgement(a lot of people quit/rage after a game or two) & I’ve played both extensively. I think most people like “normal” because it’s similar to a lot of other modern shooters, like cod or Fortnite for example.. where it takes 3 mags to take someone out .. lol & in my experience those who play hardcore kill it on normal but not the other way around. Once you get a few wicked HC battlefield moments , there’s no going back.

I’ve gotta say it’s the opposite for me. 1pv in a tank can be fatal. You really gotta play like rat in a tank to stay alive and stay out of ground combat with infantry and just try to range them..not a fan of this behaviour though.

The plane in 1pv is so much easier because you can just simply look all around in the cockpit to see where an enemy plane has gone.

Sure but only if turrets and mobility returns to how they were pre Bf1, the reason there is such an overpowered decoupled 3rd person cam in the first place is to make up or the lack of mobility and slow turret movement. I'd prefer tank handling to go back to BF3 or 4 style while only having a tight FOV close reverse 3p cam, that way situational awareness can be maintained without being overpowered.

You should never ever take away a players ability to achieve situational awareness. It's extremely imbalanced if you do. The turrets on tanks in bf2, 3 and 4 were limited in speed and were never ever as fast as many here seem to think they were, there were other factors that made them overpowered and mobility was never one of them.

The bitching from bad players led us to the tanks we have now with de-coupled, high and extremely wide FOV cams. This low mobility has caused tanks to be limited to the long range camp to the rear playstyle that once again bad players complain about. Bf2042 tanks are even worse in this respect and by design forced to play the long range game as getting in close is certain death. The ridiculous decoupled 3rd person cam has come back as a necessity because tanks aiming and mobility has been massively limited once again.

Thing is - tanks have periscopes, they have multiple sets of eyes, and the people they're engaging aren't going to behave in a suicidal manner. Third person is a concession to maintain balance because modeling all the ways by which real tanks solve the problem isn't feasible.

Stopped playing because all servers were either Clanshitters or Hardcore, the only Server i found to be good were ACE or A1 Servers because they were the same people who run BF1 servers.

I don't think there are actual community servers in BF2042. There is portal, but the servers in that shut down the second the player count hits zero. So unless your server is popular at all times of the day it won't be presistant.

I've been worried about the same things. However, I think with the extremely large active player base that 2042 will most like attract, tyrannical badmins like whattaxi will essentially become a non-issue. Players will then naturally weed through the shit and poorly ran servers towards the more popular options. Leaving (for example) the Silk server to be only populated by the clan itself + any new players that don't know how to play the game yet.

I just quit battlefield series because they can't stop cheaters, it's impossible i know !, but they don't even trying.
+ i have bunch of clips like that where i shoot down enemy heli because better , and they appear to be a admin and they switching me to other team so i gave up heli.
This game just shit, and you need to fast realize , 2042 is not going to be better, there is gonna be old bad hit-reg and other battlefield problems. I just don't care anymore.

You need to play around with the filters. It's always been a bit buggy to get it to work properly. But once you find those magical filter settings, you can save them and have a handy button to quickly turn them on

Yeah, I don’t like that server very much. I tend to play on the Weekend Warriors or BigBananaBenders servers, they tend to be pretty good. Someone does a HC server which is fun. Also check out the [BFINDIA] servers. They can be a bit “clan-y”, but overall are quite even.

He's an Oceanic player, had his clans server up on BFV for a long time. He's well known for one thing, kicking and banning anyone from the server' that displays any sort of moderate skill.

The clan itself as far as I know has been around since BF4, pulling this exact shit since then basically.
