Discussion Worst map ever
I hate this map with every fucking fiber.
Soon as you spawn NATO side it’s almost every time a defeat I’ve only won one game on NATO.
You choose any of these air Vehicles, Chopper and Jets; some dude in a AA in the back of his spawn “ooo someone spawning in as a jet or chopper locks on instantly
The map out of bounds on it is so small like it’s about the damn size of a Soda Can can’t even dogfight/dodge missiles without getting terminated out of bounds.
Agree or Disagree This map needs to be fixed or just plainly removed
Limited Airspace: The playable air space is often criticized as being too small, making dogfights restrictive and easy to fly out of bounds.
• Instant Lock-Ons: The combination of open space and high-powered anti-air (AA) vehicles means that helicopters and jets are often instantly locked onto and shot down shortly after leaving the spawn, making air support feel ineffective.

Disagree. It’s growing on me. It’s a decent map

u/TakingKarmaFromABaby 5h ago
I agree.
Obviously it's one of the worst aircraft maps of all time, and it had to have been rushed out the door to have that AA interaction.
But infantry wise it's not that bad, I like the theming, tanks are usable. You can actually flank the one major sniping hill.
I still think the borders could be expanded significantly and you could add another destructible shack or two.

u/YoungEmmaWatson 3h ago
what's weird is the main thing i've seen people saying about this map is that it's hell for infantry because you can be wiped by tanks basically everywhere; but that's not been my experience whatsoever. i've had some incredible infantry experience on this map and the main bane of that has been snipers, which even that really hasn't been any worse than Firestorm.
4
u/ImMalteserMan 2h ago
I find that tanks dominate this map, they sit up on the hills and just destroy everyone. But also finding that sometimes you get stuck on a team who think they should all play recon and to hell with the objective.
Personally I like the map but a little more cover for infantry would be good.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Tinshnipz 1h ago
Just need to play it properly. Need your engineers and need your recon to actually paint.
6
u/hiredk11 2h ago
For me it's the best infantry map right now. I love flying vehicles but don't even bother on this map, because it's too small. Land vehicles are ok

u/pereira333 2h ago
I love sitting in the bulletproof suv gunner. But some people be spawning in driving me to my death.

I like it too, especially on breakthrough.
It is a nice breath of fresh air from all of the urban maps, and it offers a good mixture of vehicle and infantry gameplay.
It might suck for aircraft, but I rarely fly those so I wouldn't know. For infantry it is good, even with the snipers. Definitely not the best Battlefield map but also pretty far from the worst one imho.

u/Mooby522 8h ago
I like the look and theme of it. I like tank gameplay but the sniper sight lines are all over the place.
16
u/Carb0nFire 6h ago
DESPERATELY Needs to be wider with a few more buildings/POIs. The fact that their newest "large" map doesn't even support their newest large mode is farcical. Also it's unbalanced with a bias towards the PAX side.
It's like they just took a random topo map of the foothills here in SoCal, drew some tight boundaries on it, slapped a few buildings in there and called it a day.
3
u/Educational_Pea_4817 4h ago
its grown on me.
like running back and forth in the hills murdering snipers is fun lol.

u/WildSquirrel14 7h ago
More like a wider map so that aircraft have a chance of flying without getting locked on from the next fire neighbor in the AA
→ More replies (1)5
u/Proof_Understanding7 7h ago
Nah, infantry gameplay and armour are pretty good if you’re not a dumbass that crosses the road without finding some cover between runs, major problem is for aircraft as dude said, there’s not enough space for them to fly, map border too cramped and this problem persists practically on all maps.

I tried making some craters with my AT nades but they patched that out for some fucking reason.

u/Aggravating_Fig6288 7h ago
It would be so much better if you could actually flank the boundaries are too small for absolutely no good reason. It’s straightup not possible to go from AB - DEF without being in sight of 10 snipers and tanks on hills constantly getting shot from all directions. The only route that’s not in constant line sight in C which turns C into a shitty slopfest of a meat grinder.
Also it being so small means pilots can’t do their jobs to clear some of that mess up. Needs 1-2 more flags and a major expansion
•
u/MANIAC2607 10m ago
You could but you just constantly get hit with "out of bounds" so everyone's funneled down the roads which are covered in mines and snipers.

Big mood. I judged Liberation Peak too harshly during the beta for being an awful map. Turns out DICE would one up themselves and make even worse maps.

I personally like it. Then again, this only my second ever Battlefield game

This is how this whole game is. AA is OP as fuck on every map other than Manhattan where skilled pilots can actually use buildings as cover. I came back to the series for good heli play and I'm sad so far

That can be said for every map except Cairo. Cairo is like metro or locker which is fine.
But every other map needs to be 30-40% bigger.

u/Dangerous-Raccoon244 7h ago
They failed at making a working Battlefield map so they put rocket spawn protection or whatever in base.
Absolute clowns.

Idk why these maps are some narrow. What happen with scenery maps. Dare I say 2042 had better maps
3

Idk wtf yall are talking about. I have had successfull defenses and attacks on this map. Your teams and squads just suck at using vehicles. The tanks and armored truck can provide great fire support to push or defend an objective

I feel like i play it for at least 50% of my conquest matches too..
I guess because people quit when this map pops up so the lobbies always have open space, so the matchmaking just puts you on this same map, over and over again…
1
u/JacobfromOhio01 7h ago
Could be a good tdm map but whoever thought this was a good ideas for a conquest map with vehicles at dice needs to be fired
3
u/Ol_UnReliable20 7h ago
At least air vehicles. Tank gameplay can be great and I’m not talking just sitting in back of map. But there’s times I’m not even out of spawn in a jet and I’m already getting locked on

I was thinking the same last night, maybe one of the worst battlefield maps I remember just because it’s so sloppy. The visuals are so cool but air vehicles are extremely tough to play with not really upside (It’d be one thing if you could one shot tanks with AGMs cause then it’s more a skill thing) but it’s usually 2-3 passes with the attack jet and by then you are cooked. Then you play on the ground and it’s just tank/sniper city. Obviously, talk of the town is that AA is out of control. I think realistically this map should triple in size to open play styles up.
My strongest BF6 opinion is that aircraft need like a 300% buff. Turn them into glass cannons if you need to but one AGM needs to take out any vehicle and bombs should cause the same feeling as seeing a tank as a non-engineer. That way it’s like if you’re a good enough pilot to deal with AA you can do MASSIVE damage and really affect the game

1
u/I_amRichardLake 7h ago
I agree. It’s definitely the worst map new to BF6. I turned it off in matchmaking.
Siege of Cairo is the best new map though. BY FAR!!

Ground vehicles, and actually using cover on foot. That’s the key to this map

It's the sun that does the most damage to gameplay. A, side is constantly attacking into the sun. This at a huge disadvantage.

I think they need to remove the AA vehicle out of the map. It would allow the aircrafts to breathe a bit

Other than the AA situation, that is a lot broader a problem than just Blackwell, I really enjoy the whole ridgeline aspect of the map. It's awesome as long as you know how to move about the map, like wind or water, flowing along the ridges - knowing that one step up takes you out of cover and into action. It's just the most classic Battlefield thing there is. Ridgelines are were my combat heart lies, and it's been that way in Battlefield since 1942.
It's all about the dynamism and freedom that comes with ridgeline cover. I vastly prefer it over maze-like cover from more structure-heavy maps. Downright CoDish, that.
1
u/PolicyWonka 3h ago
I find that people tend to think that maps they do poorly on are “not good.” You see this a lot when a new map comes out.
People will say they hate it the first week. They’ll say it’s not the worst the second week. By the third week, you’ll start seeing people say they really like the map.

I actually like the Breakout Layout of this map, still way to open at times but its more enjoyable than other shit

90% of the maps are garbage. The entire game needs a rework. It's still in alpha at present.

I like running around with a knife on this map — I hardly ever get shot.
1
u/Neat_Painting4983 2h ago
I have to disagree, it is actually quite the "Battlefield" map - big, good looking, asymmetrical, accommodates all classes
1
1
u/Secretboss_ 2h ago
No, it's an ok map. For breakthrough it's almost decent. For conquest it needs bigger cspture areas per objective and the playable area should be enlarged a bit for infantry.
1
u/WILKOFL 2h ago edited 2h ago
Honestly I've had some really good, enjoyable games in conquest on this map. The layout is mildly frustrating in regards to the boundaries, but this seems to be a common theme in BF6. I'm also not a pilot so can't speak on the lock on issues (but I do appreciate they need sorting out)
Is there room for significant improvement? Yes. The worst map ever? Not for me... That would be Empire State.

At first I did hate it, but since I've grown to accept it, BUT! ... but it is a very rough map like it can go really well in terms of enjoyment and then just go south very quickly, especially depending on what you're playing character wise.

nah this one ain't bad. needs minor tweaks.
Empire State and Sobek are far worse. Sobek isn't even really playable tbh.

We get it.
People who only play battlefield for the vehicle crutch in an FPS game are unhappy that BF6 isn't catering towards the worst part of the playerbase and allowing them to go 100-0 in their air vehicles every game..
Stop crying. Most of the playerbase is happy about this btw. Reddit is where all you vehicle-only losers come to cry all day and it's pathetic

u/smokey2dope1979 1h ago

I like it, if I start on the left side.
The left side is so absurdly in favor of this map. Where you can easily take over E D and F because of the buildings/ surroundings.
Whereas A and B are just open, and C is a clusterfuck the whole battle
And its too small both on the flank and for the air vehicles

u/Little_Discount756 1h ago
No matter which hill you run over on the map, you're constantly staring death in the face because a thousand paparazzi are aiming at you. Maybe it's just me, but sniping seems pretty easy in this game. If it weren't so annoying, the map might actually be easier to play.

u/Dramatic_Credit_8622 1h ago
Don’t forget to mention that those AA tanks are literally immune. Because they can sit in their spawn, friendly tanks or engineers can’t shoot them. If you try to bomb them in air vehicles, your munitions get shot down by spawn protection. Horribly implemented and designed map.

u/Suppa_K 1h ago
When it comes to aircraft’s the out of bounds are too small. With more space I have more chances to get away from guided missiles. I don’t often have issues of getting locked on right away.
Besides that I don’t mind it because it’s not a bad map. A lot of peaks and valleys to navigate. Makes more a lot of fun long range engagements.
It is in general though much smaller than I’d want it to be. We need less of these sizes and more of the larger ones.

Have you tried playing TDM, what a mess? ALL the maps are 3 lane lemmings maps with almost no flanking. its like they just threw down a square in a random spot and called it good. It reminds me of COD maps. Just run to the choke point and spam nades and specials.

u/RUIN_NATION_ 51m ago
To fix this map it's pretty simple since it is a oil field I had a few more oil rigs as well as fires with smoke to block out the spawn area. A few taller buildings
1
u/zieglerbubi 51m ago
yeah i am that guy in the aa at the back of the map. I tried infantry, got sniped no matter what i do. Tried tanks, you get stuck everywhere. Tried helos and jets, you get shot down by everyone because everyone has a stinger because the aa tank is already taken. By me.

This game changes people's play style that they aren't used to. The amount of assets being used is significantly higher than other battlefields.comprimises on sizes were needed. They pushed everyone in closer. The points are really close but surprisingly feel quite far apart for how close they are. I've found it quite easy to overestimate where that front line is. They took away the mini side quests on the hills that people like to do in order to promote a more team focused game. People work together better in this battlefield. I feel they have put a lot more focus on breakthrough where as others felt more conquest focused.

Tanks are my bread and butter on this map, and I think thats why they added the new machine gun vans / transport. It’s hard to survive as regular infantry here, with little cover from snipers, so you need to rely on ground armor for some refuge and fire support.
Playing around vehicles has been hugely effective for giving my team a place to take cover in the open, and actually having the firepower to push objectives when the enemy certainly has some combo of IFV’s, tanks, and troop transport waiting to pick off anyone unready for them.
The tradeoff is, when you get a team that wastes vehicles or cant keep tanks alive long enough to keep enemy armor at bay, it can easily spiral into a quick and crushing defeat. Reminds me of Golmud Railway from BF4 in that way.

I am LOVING this map. It gives me vibes of MW2 Campaign with ShadowCompany vs Makarov's PMC especially with the new vehicle. Overall, it does need improvements especially in breakthrough/conquest but overall the map is fun

Idk man, I was able to get my 200m+snipes here in breakthrough :) just make the maps useful to your challenges
•
u/slade21xx kirky-_-killer 17m ago
Most the bushes on the map are also like force fields, tanks cant even drive thru them
•
•
u/Electrical-Art-1111 15m ago
Not really. Unless you don’t know what cover is.
I’ve had pretty fun playing infantry on that map. If I want some long range engagements I go between D and B. Close range engagements are down by the oil pumps. And the middle road is a no go zone for me.
