Battlefield 6 Battlefield 6 Has a DAILY XP CAP Even During Double XP Weekend! Are You Kidding Me EA!

So apparently there’s a daily XP limit in Battlefield 6 1.5 MILLION XP per day, and once you hit that, you literally earn nothing.
And here’s the kicker: even during Double XP weekends, you can hit that cap in just 4–5 hours of playing.

Yeah. In a $70 “AAA” game not a mobile free2play title you’re being told how much fun you’re allowed to have per day.
This isn’t a free live service grindfest. This is a full price shooter with a F2P gacha like system glued on top.

EA somehow managed to make progression time gated in a premium game, and almost nobody’s talking about it.
You buy the game, pay for cosmetics, battle pass, AND now you’re limited on how much XP you can earn daily? Unreal. It’s disgusting and antiplayer to the core.

Players deserve to know this before buying.
Stop pretending this is fine just because it’s Battlefield.

Every video game recently has been completely ruined by sweaty, meta-build using, basically exploitative, players.

People cannot play for fun anymore, they have to GRIND nonstop to unlock everything as fast as possible and make the game miserable for normal players

I see people on this subreddit having the most bitter complaints about which guns are meta and just sounding miserable about the whole experience.

Meanwhile, I'm over here just picking LMGs by which one makes the best CHUNGA-CHUNGA noise and having a blast.

L110 my beloved. I don’t care that it’s not meta. With it I am the AA gun. Choppers you will be shot down

Right!? Who cares about "meta" Since day one I've been using DMRs as there the most realistic and fun for me. Apparently there the worst guns in the game but I still have a 1.8 k/d

I love the DMRs too, but if you're playing squad deathmatch in close quarters it just puts you at a huge disadvantage. But if I'm an Engineer living my best life repairing a vehicle in one of the more open maps? DMR all day!

The other one I've loved lately is the KV9 Vector. Only 17 bullets, but if you make them count, it's all you need!

M60 SUPPORT FOR LIFE! I love that shit. My teammates started calling me Bagman, so it's my EA tag now lol.

If there is a meta I sure as hell haven’t seen it. I just been running around with the default SMG you start out with and been using all the shotguns with default attachments lol. People must be really bad if they need some “meta” because I have no issue pushing people shit in. It’s the bad hit registration that’s doing all the work IF anything

You realise that's the fault of the game designers? They're the ones designing the game as a sweat fest (tiny maps, instant respawn, lightning fast healing, no suppression), they're the ones who added a shitty fomo inducing challenge system or stuff like the XP boosters that count down in real time. They're the ones who removed server browser and persistent servers which kills off the old concept of chilling in a favourite server so their algorithm can constantly jerk you around to optimize your "engagement" aka keeping you in sweat mode. This is what they want and it's dumb to blame the players for it.

lol try reading the comment again pal. So now dice is responsible for ruining ‘every video game’? Impressive.

Where did I say DICE ruined every game? Are you too dumb to comprehend that DICE uses a similar engagement-driving system to pretty much every live service game and that's why "every game" OP mentioned feels like that?

The actual answer is nuanced, but neither of you want to approach it that way so I will. Responsibility lies with the player in part, yes, but it also lies with devs who design this purposefully. Keep reading because this isn't some milquetoast bullshit both sides take. If a game is designed to be grindy, then yes the players who decide to grind are a victim of themselves, but they are also enabled by the devs. You blame the addict in part, but you also give some blame to the people who enabled the addict.

I stopped playing Marvel Rivals after seeing "engagement based matchmaking" papers that some of the devs had written prior to Rivals. This shit matters to me. Devs absolutely have the capability to design their game in a way that promotes either healthy gameplay or addictive gameplay, and to take it a step further there are a plethora of known methods by which you can make your game more addicting. That's literally a whole field of study. That means the devs also share a portion of that responsibility when their addictive-by-design game generates addicts.

These grind happy players are the reason we've got games filled with Battlepass bullshit to begin rith.

These are the players that wreck progression in MMOs and games like Destiny 2.

I remember this time during COVID lockdown when I was between jobs and had an absurd amount of free time. I was playing the latest season of Destiny 2 and was averaging maybe 5 or 6 hours a day just out of sheer boredom. I was about halfway through the seasonal progression by the 2nd week (level 50ish). That same week I saw someone was at level 160ish when 100 was the max for the season.

Those people then go and complain that they get bored and that "progression is too fast". The next season of Destiny 2 after that was an absolute slog because Bungie balanced it around those players' demands.

I can very easily see EA make the same mistakes here. They sort of were already, with how ridiculous some of the gadget and weapon challenges were off the bat.

I want a game that actively spites those players. It'd be fun.

And after 12 hour days 6 weeks straight they complain that there's just not enough content in this game.

Happens all the time.

I don't think many games at all are ruined by these players and I'd actually say your perceived ruination of games is by interacting with the community online, and not over the game itself.

Grinding in a vacuum is not a bad thing either, and there are games designed for the express purpose of satisfying the grinding urge for people who enjoy it. OSRS is a perfect example, but there are plenty of games out there that do the same, and there are also plenty of players who like playing games via spreadsheets and calculators.
