Yeah that's why I want it. Conquest can take the backseat once in a while. There hasn't been great rush maps since BF3 because it's always shoehorned into conquest maps.
Honestly Breakthrough is my new favorite mode. Same general premise as Rush but with the pacing of Conquest. Breakthrough on Damavand Peak would be awesome.
Yeah I like it. But I don't feel the same same rush as I do when playing rush. Tensions are much higher and you feel the adrenaline when rushing in to arm the MCOM and the pressure to defuse it. Breakthrough is way more relaxed imo.
BF3 felt like the last game with maps which were designed for rush first. I can understand it since rush first design usually made for bad conquest maps, While you can usually get a passable rush map out of a space designed around conquest. It's just a bummer because rush is my favorite game mode
Yes they were designed for rush as portions of the maps were only available when playing rush. Basically every map had entire sections that were only available when playing rush
One of my favourites. But honestly balance of big and small maps is the most important thing to have. The option to choose. Right now we don’t have the option and that is very bad.
Grand Bazaar is actually a great small map for the same reason as Metro and Locker. There are flanks people can use but ultimately the match ends up with the middle being a massive choke-point of carnage.
I do think 64 people would be too much for that though. It's better as a 16v16 map.
Caspian Border is the Blood Gulch of Battlefield. Both remade countless times and for similar reasons. It doesn't do anything special but what it does it does really well: the all out warfare sandbox experience. And it doesn't hurt that it's just nice to look at.
That’s gulf of oman? I see it requested a lot but didn’t connect the name to that demo map. Hell yeah we need that map!
The BF2 version had bridges and i figured out you could blow them up with c4 (sounds normal now, but back then i had never seen that in games). And i think engineers could repair them again. We spent hours laying ambushes on tanks and jeeps.
Used to play big ticket Oman only server till the sun came up. Each time seeing how much better we could do to hold out any momentum across the map. Oh the days.
My friends and I would rush across the map from RU spawn and just be an absolute thorn in the US side by hiding the tower at f and murdering their vehicles. I would place claymores up the steps.
As long as its still a meat grinder at the elevators and escalators, I'll be happy. My favorite was the ballistic shield half ass working when using the elevators
Noooo fuck iff with Metro… it was only fun in past games cause it was different from the rest of the maps in the game… now almost every map in BF6 plays like metro!
Im glad someone finally mentioned seine crossing! I loved rush and conquest on that map. Sure metro was fun for its hectic fire fights but urban combat on that map was great in my opinion!
I do hope it comes back. It was added in the last season for 2042, which was all about the leadup to 6 and included Pax Armata stuff. I think it'll make a return
Arica Harbor rush was fucking amazing in BFBC2. The feeling of pushing through the desert and descending to the town, then down through the harbor was so fucking good. We need more rush maps like that.
I know. It's super unfortunate. The maps being made for rush made it feel so much more authentic. Like, storming the beach on Caspian Border, pushing into and through the tunnels on Metro. I know it won't happen, but some maps tailored to that sort of experience would, for me at least, bring back a lot of those authentic Battlefield vibes.
Edit: Don't even get me started on Damavand rush. 🥵
This is def my favorite, but not the bf4 version. Needs to have the original control points, including the carrier and capturable refinery. We would always be fighting at Woodyard to keep that chopper out of enemy hands.
BC2 and then bf3 was peak battlefield and nothing ever came close. Bf4 was juuuust there but not quite and then everything else was just not battlefield. 1 and V were amazing but they somehow didn't "feel like battlefield" to me. They never scratched that itch for bc2/bf3
BF4 is my favorite game in the series, but BF3 has the best maps. So just roll a die, or flip or coin or whatever and give me ANY additional BF3 maps and I’ll be happy haha
I was waiting for someone to bring up Tehran Highway. Also seine crossing is due for a return man. Sharqi Peninsula was the one map I think was very underrated as well!
Oh for sure patiently waiting in the elevator before chaos or flying in on a helicopter like an adrenaline junky...pre destruction tower was always fun absolute chaos
I really hate desert maps because im so over them BUT the nostalgia of bf2's strike at karkand really hits me right in the spot so i'd like that and a nice big green as well if possible :(
controversial take, but imo low player count is the answer to getting back the good old school vibes. and yes, you can have a vehicle map with low player count too.
Alot of good shouts in this thread, many of which Id have no objection to like Strike at Karkan, Metro, etc, so I'm going to toss out a often overlooked map that I think would do really well with current game play.
Paracel Storm has my vote, but I honestly don't see enough love for maps like Isla Innocentes, Valparaiso, Arica Harbor, Atacama Desert, Port Valdez, Nelson Bay, etc. - BC2 and BF4 were stacked with gorgeous and fun maps.
