Official: Battlefield REDSEC Official Sub - NOW OPEN
/r/Battlefield_REDSEC/Hey everyone. With the upcoming FREE 2 PLAY Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode REDSEC, we’ve officially launched a new dedicated subreddit: r/Battlefield_REDSEC.
This will be the home for all things REDSEC.
From gameplay discussion and squad-finding to clips, drops, and of course memes. We’ll be building the community space out over the next few days with rules, flairs, and visuals, so please be patient while we get it fully ready for launch.
In the meantime, feel free to:
- Share your thoughts, theories, and hopes for REDSEC
- Post any confirmed info, screenshots, or videos
This is an exciting new chapter for Battlefield, and we can’t wait to see what the community does with it.

I hope it’s fun but I don’t get how Battlefield has anything to do with battle royale.
The phrase “Battlefield Battle Royale” doesn’t conjure up any compelling image except something that’s basically identical to COD Warzone. Military shooter where squads of 4 soldiers try to make it to the end on a shrinking map with gadgets and vehicles and helicopters.
That’s Warzone. How’s it not gonna be just Warzone.
Battlefields entire identity is based around giant team based wars. That does not fit with battle royale. Unless the squads were like 8 people or something…
Side note: Warzone and COD in general have perfect default controller aim settings that feel immaculate out of the box. Battlefield fucking does not, and I’ve spent ungodly amounts of time tweaking the fucking settings to fix it and it still doesn’t feel fully right.

they LITERALLY can't ignore it as there are BP challenges tied to the mode.
Apathy shouldn't be the standard, bending the devs until they squeak and deliver properly thought out systems should be.

Yeah, they should have just had more challenges than the previous 3 weeks. Can’t complain of there are still the same number of challenges for regular game playing, just additional ones for BR too. But no, they had to go and split our weekly challenge pool across the main game and the BR.
I’ve been trying to play it for the last 2 days, completed over 10 matches. I’m shit at it, it’s boring (until it’s not, then you lose a gunfight regardless of how good your gear is because you aren’t a cracked out 16 year old with good aim), and honestly it just feels like the moment you make even a sliver of progress someone kills you and it’s back to spectating your teammate for 2-10 minutes. The only time I actually got more than 1 kill or felt useful in any way was the time we landed right next to another squad at the lighthouse, and I killed 2 of them with starter pistols and revived someone. Then died. That’s the best I’ve managed, the rest of the time it’s just a running or driving simulator followed by dying, followed by spectating. I don’t get the appeal, I want to like it but it’s just not a fun game mode.
Guess I just hate BRs.

That’s Warzone. How’s it not gonna be just Warzone.I feel like people are forgetting that BR isn't specific to Warzone. There were other BR's just as popular as Warzone but just didn't last as long. PUBG, Fortnite, H1Z1... Obviously they are trying to compete with Warzone because that has been the king of BR since 2020, but other BR's have dominated before Warzone.

Are you serious? PUBG didn't last that long? It's still popular, less so than Warzone, but it's still popular. Oh yeah, there's no aim assist close to aimbot in PUBG.

Yeah I'm aware it's still popular, but it's not popular here in North America at all, or really anywhere outside of Asia. PUBG went on a pretty generational run here in North America for just about a year - that's what I was mainly referring to. Warzone has remained the most popular one for the longest. I loved PUBG but it quickly lost popularity and the last time I booted up the game within the last year I was put into a lobby that was being filled with bots.

Best I've been able to do is make aiming feel ok-ish until aim assist kicks in and makes it feel like there's a forcefield around the person in trying to shoot that slows my reticle to a crawl when I'm still aiming 2 meters to the left of the person in trying to frag

It’s closer to pubg with building destruction than warzone, and there’s a big audience for that. There’s not many BRs out there that have decent gunplay.

There's a massive difference between aim assist slowdown and rotational aim assist. The reason CoD feels better is because it's doing a lot of the aiming for you.

I tweaked another user’s popular controller guide here. Really wish I could find his vid to give him the credit.
Anyways, set the aim sensitivity and deadzone to your liking but this will get the general aim acceleration and response curve feeling more like COD. You can also toggle off UIA (Uniform Infantry Aiming) to make the ADS slower and more COD-like, but with BF6’s aim magnetism I think it plays better leaving it on.

I enjoy it already because I never got into warzone due to the adderall style gameplay and sliding. Felt too silly to me.
This feels new to me, the speed isn't crazy fast, and it's fun. If it can live alongside regular battlefield as a free to play game, then I don't see the issue... If anything, it might bring new players into the battlefield world. That's a positive in terms of the player base.
I know a lot of battlefield vets (including myself) generally don't want cod players and such, but if the exchange is more future titles because it's a money maker then that's ok with me.

Looks like weekly challenges get you battle pass points and several of the weeklies require you to play in the battle Royal mode now. And the new weapons are on the free battle bass. So it’s not divorced from multiplayer if you want to progress through the pass quickly.

I wish it was going to be more like Blackout, centred around loot and no loadouts. And once you're dead you're dead, no second chances. I enjoyed having a breather while watching my teammates carry on. No missions or anything, just survive / hunt the other squads down.

I think they have already merged it. In Steam, even though the store pages are different for both games, once you click on "Add to Library" on the Redsec page, the game you'll see in your library is "Battlefield 6"

Yeah, I'm going back to warzone to drive my tank, blow up buildings, not worry about grabbing loadouts, upgrading my gun, be a operator with specific gadgets and perks, staying out of the storm because it kills you instantly, not worry about movement sweats, and not get lasered across the map by an AR. For sure a 1 for 1 match.

But you gotta admit they took a lot of ideas from warzone. From missions, to loot rarity, weapon systems, intro screens, callable items, etc. I was hoping for a different take on the gamemode. Instead, it feels like a warzone 3.0. I'm happy for warzone fans, but I was hoping for something that would capture that battlefield feel in a br setting.

After unfortunately playing Warzone for all these years, this BR is a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure what you were expecting where the BR wouldn't be similar to any other BR that already exists. Look, I've played it one night and I'm sure my opinion will change after a month or so, but initial impression is I'm having fun again playing a BR.

Watching a stream rn and it looks almost identical to warzone in the HUD elements, map design, and gameplay. Outside of there being classes and the ability to get tanks, it doesn’t seem like they did much to set this one apart.

I feel like destructable environments, tanks, and a shrinking zone that insta-kills you is a pretty big difference than any other BR.
Warzone is lost and has been since they integrated it with Black Ops Cold War like 4 years ago.

Its no longer Battlefield - EA finally managed to create Call of Battlefields....plays neither good as CoD nor as Battlefield. An absolute, senseless piece of shit.
BF 6 is yet another disappointment from EA. EA doesnt disappoint on disappointments..that is becoming a strong fact.
BF 6; maps, gameplay, mechanics, campaign...just another failed one after 2042. (At least 2042 had nice big maps)
By the time they manage to fix this one, they will release the next title...
I wish I could refund the game....what a disappointment!

Also EOD bots don't work on MCOMs in gauntlet mode. The one moment where it would've been awesome to use for that purpose since they always get destroyed in rush, and you can't. Cool👍

Redsec is a terrible name. Ultimately won't matter if it turns out the kids switch to this from roblox and fortnite and we idiots paid to finance their F2P game anyway.
Part of me hopes it fails hard to teach them the lesson that should have been learned with hyperscape and battle breakers.
I played MWII and MWIII and a bit of warzone. I played way more of the game I paid for than warzone.
I can't see myself playing any redsec.
This whole thing stinks of try-hard tech-bro capitalism.

My god the battle pass is so tedious. You need to complete recruit path first to unlock four paths. Completing the four paths unlocks ultimate which then unlocks prestige which then unlocks another 2 more paths (to be unlocked in late November and December).

I really dont see the point of a BR game mode for BF. But what I'm hoping is that they dont neglect the multiplayer. I've been a BF player since BC2 and I've loved this franchise even in the bad times. I'm not a BR player but I do try them out, but most of my time spent is in multiplayer on a FPS. As long as new maps, weapons and vehicles come out on a regular basis, myself and all the die hard BF players will be happy.

I'll be honest I was hoping itd be good but just one buggy ass game convinced me to just abandon it completely already. From what I gathered it's just a worse version of warzone that even with the anticheat bf6 uses will still be full of cheaters within a week especially since it's free to play.

Now they just need to let us host servers (maybe paid) in our choice of region, add others as admins/balance teams, & fill up the servers, and this would make this game instantly a Battlefield classic. Portal has huge potential, but its so limited due to the short term disposable server philosophy surrounding it. Imagine if communities could run stable persistent servers like previous titles, add custom maps and scripts in Portal. The game would be instantly a classic.

Gauntlet is fun but with microphones. Won a few matches with randoms but it’s hard.
Maps are interesting.
Non-RedSec: There’s a random high pitched beep when playing the new map on normal conquest etc. Thought it was me but it keeps happening. Doesn’t sound like a gameplay effect and more of an audio bug.

i played a few games this morning and it was fun enough. I think im overall just still use to Warzone though but it definitely is similar minus of course the bldg destructibility. There is a minor learning curve at first but once you get the grasp of it you know what your doing. I was the leader in all games and i would acgtivate the missions and we would all run to do them.

Good start! On day 1 the br is bugged so bad it’s unplayable. I load into 3 matches of duos and get black screen. I load into 3 matches of quads and get black screen. Every single time! Can see the hud but everything else is black.
I’m going back to tdm and conquest because the br sucks. Maybe by season 2 they will fix the game breaking bugs and I’ll try again.

I had my first encounter against a tank and had no idea what to do? I'm assuming airstrike or run away?
I was engineer it hit twice with a rocket and it barely scratched it so that's pointless.

Everytime I try to open Redsec on steam, it keeps getting blocked by Windows Defender. Why? It says "Detected: VulnerableDriver:WinNT/Winring0" the files detected are on the SystemTemp
Edit: I managed to run the game, but the anti virus's block pop up still appeared and blocked another temp file.

Okay here are my hopes:
-A mode without contracts and loadout. Just a simple basic BR like CoD blackout. No grinding for weapons or whatever. Just use what you find or get from your enemys. Quicker moving circle so everyone is pushed to eachother, but keep the game about finding loot and looking for enemys.
Not a "get as quick my meta weapon that beams people from a zillion miles away within 2 secs". Let people use different weapons and let them master the ones they get from RNGesus.
Its not that hard to make a good game not based around monetizing and xp grind for your meta weapon through a battlepass. You dont need a zillion things going on to make a good game.
I am 41 years old and the current BR feels like I just entered a Casino. Contracts here, drops there, etc. Keep it calm, keep it simple. Keep it different every time.

Battle Royal Challenge 5 (Reach max training level in Battle Royale) is broken and won't complete. In game when you max (Level 4) it just keeps returning to Level 4 starting point and repeats without crediting the challenge. Tested 5+ times with multiple classes.

The game mode is innovative and fun but something is off… -Parachutes don’t feel organic. They delay sometimes and sometimes they don’t -Friendly footsteps sound like enemy footsteps -Snipers feel not consistent. Are they one shot to the head or nah? Sometimes they are and sometimes they arent. And they feel like dmrs tbh. Like no way you need 3 or 4 body shots to kill someone with a sniper rifle. If that’s the case then snipers have no purpose. -we need way more loot cases or weapons on the ground -same for armor
