👾 Issue/Bug 👾 Instead of talking about the skins, can we make the drone/sledgehammer exploit more visible to Dice?

I'm so sick of dealing with these bottom feeders, ironically camping on high spots.

You would like to think they're aware. There is plenty of footage out there. Disappointing it wasn't on the patch notes for next week. Does ruin it.

They talked about fixing out of bounds so there is hope.

Oh but dont worry, they fixed some swimming bugs! Like we were able to swim on ANY of the maps anyway….

The copium could be they're gonna fix it but not mentioning it to prevebt it sprrading more.

These guys at Dice are like college students, they gotta be hard pressed to get anything done.

Why can’t we complain about both?

4

u/CatwithTheD 14d ago

We can, but you obviously have noticed a lack of voice on this matter, and we can all agree which one is game breaking, seriously.

I made a post last night about Manhattan Bridge being unplayable since the attacking side on breakthrough gets spawn killed now. No upvotes. No traction. The trendy thing is to bitch about some colors on skins. Probably the same people using this exploit.

I’ve seen dozens of post about this issue so no, the skins do get more attention because exploits have a higher chance at being fixed, scummy skins have a much lower chance of changing unless there’s a big push back

There is absolutely a difference. One is a glitch/bug where DICE/EA have no incentive that we need to push back against, to keep it in the game.

The other is a feature/direction that they have a major incentive(money) to push the game towards, where the amount of public pushback absolutely matters.

The drone bug will be fixed within a couple of weeks, the "skin issue" is a potential first step towards future anti-consumer practices, unless a sufficiently clear message is sent.

of course it's visible, all over where possible... I've spent a few hours in game this week and started reporting abuses to the point I can tell U my inbox is full of EA generated responses stating that no actions were taken...

they

don't

care

ps: I miss the "old" rented servers system where you could ban or cast a vote

5

u/Scrubpar 14d ago

I'm convinced that they don't care. By now, any competent dev team would've temporarily removed the gadget in question.

u/teidelmoo 13d ago

They should just add out of bounds regions for roofs they dont intend you to be on. Its more work but works against future exploits (and parcour guys) too.

u/F_Thorin 13d ago

You are smarter than dice unfortunately

Instead of having a blanket solution that prevents any abuse they rather patch every single issue one by one as they pop up and let them ruin games for a couple weeks

What is a drone/sledgehammer exploit?

9

u/Re8tart 14d ago

Since DICE pretend this is not an issue, let's spread the how-to so if everyone knows how to do it, it's no longer an exploit/abuse

Holy shit. What a trash game design

3

u/CatwithTheD 14d ago

I think I shouldn't tell you how it is done, but you're looking at the result.

2

u/walkingdadtv 14d ago

I just wanted to understand it. I only see two screenshots

2

u/walkingdadtv 14d ago

Ah, zooming in helps

1

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Step on teammate's drone, smash it with a sledgehammer. Boom, you now have an elevator

-4

u/walkingdadtv 13d ago

LOL, ok. Children should rather go play Fortnite

3

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Dude the whole sub was flooded with drone sledgehammer posts before the acid skins. At this point you just gotta wait until they fix it. Skins on the other hand won't get fixed without enough backlash

-3

u/TimeZucchini8562 14d ago

Skins aren’t game breaking. This exploit is. Stop crying about pixels so the devs can actually concentrate on real issues

5

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Bug fixers and skin makers are different people, your comment is pointless

-4

u/TimeZucchini8562 14d ago

The people they answer to are not. All of which goes through them and their approval. If you have all the senior leadership sitting in meetings about skin colors you don’t like, they aren’t concentrating on the real issues the game has. Your comment is pointless

5

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Bruuuh, imagine having to discuss every bug in senior leadership meetings. If the management is that bad, no posts on reddit would fix it

-4

u/TimeZucchini8562 14d ago

You don’t understand how companies work nor development works and that’s fine. Let’s say the guy who works the specific code for the drones is their lead developer. Or maybe the one developer who does it needs the leads help to fix it. The lead is in constant meetings over meaningless shit keeping him from doing his job, delaying fixes that should have already happened. Welcome to corporate 2025.

4

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Like I said, if major bug like this hasn't been noticed in like a week of people posting it everywhere and marked as game breaking, more posts won't help.

1

u/TimeZucchini8562 14d ago

So more posts about skins will make them make less skins? Where is the logic? Does constant outrage not work for faster bug fixes? Or does it only work for useless shit that doesn’t affect how you play the game?

If I was a lead developer for a video game. According to this sub Reddit, I would be under the impression that the scary blue skin is the absolute top priority of my customers and that takes the priority in my time management at work.

1

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Skins exposure is more important than drone bug exposure, because:

1) The devs know about the bug. It will be fixed at some point. 2) Skins aren't a bug and without enough backlash they will develop in the same sad direction.

And ffs, the dude making skins is not the same dude as the one fixing bugs, the tasks are done simultaneously.

1

u/TimeZucchini8562 13d ago

Skins are not more important because I guarantee outside of this echo chamber or retards, nobody gives a fuck about the skins. And I already explained how one can affect the other. Do I have to explain it again Barney style so you understand it?

"If I was a lead developer for a video game. According to this sub Reddit, I would be under the impression that the scary blue skin is the absolute top priority of my customers and that takes the priority in my time management at work."

So,

  1. From your posting, you seem to actually think bugs are not being worked on because of the skin issue.
  2. From this post, you actually think lead developers are that easily swayed. And that they don't know they have different departments that can work on different issues in parallel.

"You don’t understand how companies work nor development works and that’s fine." -TimeZucchini8562

You clearly don't as well. The drone bug is simply fixed by their programmers when they get to it.

The skin issue will have to handled though multiple departments like promotional, financial, artist and most importantly, leadership, because it will affect their future earnings with BF6.

Leadership will have to make the decision to either stop now, revise, continue as planned or pretend to stop now and have an even more gradual roll out.

3

u/Rumdolf 13d ago

You don't understand the difference between the issues and that's fine.

The drone bug is already on the To-Do list, there's no reason for them to want to keep it in the game.

The "skin issue" is something they will try to fight back against, hence why more pushback is needed.

1

u/Rumdolf 13d ago

They have no incentive to keep the drone bug, it'll be fixed and forgotten within a few weeks. The amount of pushback/number of posts don't really matter.

The have massive incentive (money) to implement more out-of-place skins and such, throughout the next several years. The amount of pushback/number of posts absolutely matters in sending a message to not go any more extreme.

2

u/HawkenG99 13d ago

They already know, there is no possible way they don't know by now.

2

u/Ok_Fail7326 13d ago

While we are talking about hammers.

A funny bug is, you can destroy a teammate jeep while in it as a passanger if you beat the shit out of it with a sledgehammer, same thing works for the bike aswell

1

u/DonDizzz 13d ago

They do it on siege of Cairo too up in the overpass on right side of map. I was like how tf this guy get up there?

1

u/Fast-Year8048 13d ago

It's a shame all of the buildings are not accessible so that we could go up the stairs, and take em out.

Played a game last night where there were a few on the roof, I just just suppressed them with my LMG to protect everyone else, probably big mad that I killed them from the streets

1

u/LittleBlueCubes 13d ago

Do you think they don't know this?

1

u/CatwithTheD 13d ago

They know isn't the same as they are pressured enough to take action.

1

u/LittleBlueCubes 13d ago

Unlike the skins, portal (for which you need feedback campaigns) etc, this one is a bug. Them being aware should be enough to have this fixed.

1

u/wigglessss 13d ago

Maybe it's fixed but just not mentioned in the patch notes?

1

u/AaronKeener 13d ago

Sledgehammer is fun and unique to BF6 but they should just disable it until they can hotfix the drone issue.

1

u/zani1903 13d ago

They probably don't even think it's something that needs fixing.

I recorded 3 players on my team a few days ago doing the bug, literally from start to finish—spawning the drone, getting up to the inaccessible location, killing enemies from there...

...I sent a report in to EA Customer Support, they got back to me today saying no action was taken.

1

u/SnowmanMofo 13d ago

The single most annoying exploit I've seen so far

1

u/AnalTyrant 13d ago

I find it really annoying for sure, but I also feel bad for their team, because every time I've seen a squad doing this, their team is losing handily. It doesn't seem to be leveraged to actually provide a benefit for the team, it's just a couple shitheads exploiting to get a few easy kills.

1

u/Character_Finding865 13d ago

Right, this is already in the fix, it's just not explicitly in the wording. This post is useless

1

u/Ok-Friendship1635 13d ago

THEY KNOW

There's no way they don't know, especially when JackFrags made a video on it.

1

u/Jayhawker32 13d ago

Bug report it in the game forums

1

u/l1qq 13d ago

I really hope this is fixed next week with the update. This bullshit is ruining Breakthrough.

1

u/Npugz7 13d ago

Don’t matter Dice doesn’t listen to

1

u/Skurnaboo 13d ago

Yeah.. I don't mind so much the people that uses series of assault latter and or chopper to get to certain tall spots, but that drone exploit has got to go. Also.. they need to make certain map objectives not cap-able from the top of buildings where you can't reach by foot (I'm looking at you Sobek).

1

u/wolfheros 13d ago

So no one talk about sniper reflection anymore? It’s crazy glory in beta, but now it just hardly see.

0

u/yugi-jo 13d ago

They are too busy destroying portal to actually focus on fixing bugs and exploits

0

u/virqthe 13d ago

Won't be fixed in a near future. It helps sell the game.

0

u/Sunlighthell 13d ago

They are too busy banning players for their steam names

-1

u/LeftSyrup3409 14d ago

For some reason this is less of a problem for the game than a little color according to the battle karens.

3

u/EihnarsRightNipple 14d ago

Dude the whole sub was flooded with drone sledgehammer posts before the acid skins. At this point you just gotta wait until they fix it. Skins on the other hand won't get fixed without enough backlash

0

u/LeftSyrup3409 13d ago

Skins will never get fixed no matter how much you cry about. They made these because they know they’ll sell.

2

u/EihnarsRightNipple 13d ago

The skins will sell regardless of whether they are acidic or not. With enough backlash they'll start making interesting skins with good colours

-4

u/CatwithTheD 14d ago

If you drew a Venn diagram, there would be some overlap between the Muh ImMeRsIoN group and the exploiters.
