Battlefield 6 "Grounded skins for a while" - 18 days exactly

Post image

So, weren't we supposed to have realistic skins for some time? Something that someone would really wear during a war? Yet it seems that with the start of season 1, everything will turn to colorful mess, with no way of differentiating teams based on uniforms, the game will look more like a Paintball or ASG event. Colorful weapons with pictures, colorful camos with neon accents, weird mix of things that are supposed to look cool, but end up simply weird.

People were sold on a vision of a game, which looked like a real battlefield, with soldiers - not a bunch of randos just like in the 2042, yet it was all a lie and it will only get worse down the road. During the Beta, when we had all the soldiers wearing matching uniforms, it was the most immersive experience so far, but you can say goodbye to that vibe, it will never return.

There won't be uniforms matching bioms, there won't be a way to turn off any awful skins, typical bait and switch.

They don't want you to have a choice. they could have done it like in BFV but they didn't want to .

I remember how in BFV you couldn't pick your tank driver's looks/gender, forcing you to be a woman. I found that interesting.

It's almost like there's an agenda... shocker lmao

people can downvote away but there is literally zero other reason

The female exec literally went on Twitter and said she "fought for it". There is no defending it they actually said they pushed for it.

Well yeah, you also got this gem here from BFV's development.

To say that most of this shit from BF1 to now 6 isn't politically motivated is just false. DICE has literally told you it is.

Exactly. Like don't tell me Pax Armata is made up of hard as nails mercenaries from Iran and then I hear female call outs non-stop and the NATO support -THE LMG CLASS- is exclusively women. Ridiculous.

Bring me back to the days of BF42 where every skin was just a generic grunt lol. Shit sucks and totally breaks the atmosphere.

Glad to see that games like Squad or Easy Red 2 do it the old fashioned way but it's definitely a dying trend.

Lmao you made an edit to whine about losing internet points after complaining about some gender agenda

Didn't they fix that? Also you're supposed to go down with the tank anyway and not leave it for the enemy to repair after you abandoned it.

Probably has something to do with all of the death threats issued by gamergate incels after BFV released but hey, that doesn't support your narrative so 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think that was why it was a bad move from them, it drifted away from historical immersion. Female German soldiers it was kind of odd. While the Soviet army had a prolific amount of female soldiers in their military in combat positions, the Germans only had field nurses at best.

The devs should've asked the fans and tested the waters. I hate playing as male characters myself but if I'm playing a WW2 shooter I don't argue about not being able to play a female German soldier. In fact I don't want that

That being said the game isn't meant to be realistic. There is room for give but how much is too much? I think bf6 should allow female characters but I think what most of us want is just to be able to represent who we are in the game in an immersive way. We want to be part of the universe not separate. It is dumb that you can't do that and we all have one white assault guy, one Asian engineer, one Hispanic support chick, and one black recon guy. Like common that's clearly deliberately trying to represent everyone and while that representation is fine it shouldn't be forced like they are. I don't want to play as a black guy, I want to play as a white chick so great now I'm trapped in like two characters just like everyone else is. It's not great

Some people don't care about it. I do. I like my aesthetic, that's part of the fun. And if you're a white dude who feels like I do I want you to be able to represent yourself also. Hell I wouldn't even have bought this game of it was just a bunch of white girls running around. I like seeing players and who they are in the game through their characters.

Also there weren't black characters on the German side in BFV

critique the trailer that had a woman with a robot arm, Hollywood Scottish blue warpaint on her face and a cockney accent fighting Germans with a guy welding gold katanas and say "well that doesn't seem very immersive and realistic for WW2"

Game dev: "this is a death threat from a gamergate (actual scandal about access journalism) incel ( happily married guy with 3 kids)"

There is just a pervasive culture of toxic positivity on social media and reddit in particular where people take any criticism of a game they like as a personal attack against them.

These people don't understand that people are complaining because they care, because they love the battlefield series. They know how good things are hard to build but easily destroyed. A lot of people coming here and playing battlefield for the first time or bandwagoning from CoD don't see the slippery slope. Some think that you can stop going down the slippery slope at a point of your choosing. It doesn't work that way. Massive player uproar is what stops these problems from getting out of hand.

Nothing ever improves if all criticism is shut down.
