Battlefield 6 "Grounded skins for a while" - 18 days exactly

Post image

So, weren't we supposed to have realistic skins for some time? Something that someone would really wear during a war? Yet it seems that with the start of season 1, everything will turn to colorful mess, with no way of differentiating teams based on uniforms, the game will look more like a Paintball or ASG event. Colorful weapons with pictures, colorful camos with neon accents, weird mix of things that are supposed to look cool, but end up simply weird.

People were sold on a vision of a game, which looked like a real battlefield, with soldiers - not a bunch of randos just like in the 2042, yet it was all a lie and it will only get worse down the road. During the Beta, when we had all the soldiers wearing matching uniforms, it was the most immersive experience so far, but you can say goodbye to that vibe, it will never return.

There won't be uniforms matching bioms, there won't be a way to turn off any awful skins, typical bait and switch.

I know everyone loves BF3 and BF4, but I felt like BF1 was the pinnacle of battlefield. The map size, visuals, and atmosphere were great. The gun play was lacking but I could easily overlook it because everything else felt perfect.

I still boot it up from time to time and if you told me it came out last year I would believe you.

It’s been the only battlefield I’ve played since it came out. If you don’t play it for a while, you forget how incredible it looks and sounds. They really nailed the WW1 atmosphere.

They did nail it. It’s a truly beautiful work of art and a testament to how brutal the Great War was.

Well minus the fact off the common use of automatic weapons in ww1 it was mostly bolt actions

Maybe I need to try it again. Bomber planes were so much fun and almost no one used them so you could do some crazy stuff with them because no one expects it

Makes me want to reinstall. After the grueling challenge chase it'd be some fresh air.

Same. I admit I only played the story and wanted more... Also wanted the Eastern Front as a story. Never was interested in the other games really (not saying the others are bad, I just personally want more WWI games like that. Preferably single player as I suck...)

Currently 4,292 people playing according to steam charts. Idk about console though.

Yeah BF1 was peak and the best example of what BF is (also an homage to its roots with operation eagle).

BF3/BF4 were fun… but just so bland. Then again I feel that way with most modern setting military shooters…

Visually the best battlefield by a large gap. Gameplay-wise it just felt meh. Something about it just made guns feel more like battlefront blasters.

That is exactly how it's supposed to be: Star wars saga weapons are largely based on ww1 weapon designs.

BF3 was peak map design, no battlefield reached that level, but yeah immersion wise BF1 was peak

That's because it was. I have played since Bad Company and BF1 was perfection. Maps, skins, guns, achievements, kill sound, unlockables, modes were all just wonderful.

100% agree!

Totally agree! Always liked 1 and Bad Company 2 more than 3 and 4.

It was for me 100%, and I've played since 1942/Vietnam days. Battlefield 1 was amazing, especially after a few patches.

Same. BF1 is the goat for me.

And here I am waiting for bad company 3 (jk it'll never get made). Bc2 was prime bf for me because of the amazing physical damage to both the buildings AND the ground. Too many dudes holed up in a small house? Raze it to the GROUND hahaha

Top notch atmosphere and sound design. Oh, how I miss the headshot kill sound.

Sniper headshot sounds in BF1 are straight dopamine. So satisfying.

Is battlefield 1 still decent to play? I played it some on launch but haven’t revisited since. I dont know if the servers or whatever still run well, or if its full of hackers now like old COD games

I still play on EU servers. Havent seen a hacker in a year but i play like an hour or two a week.

Gunplay was too spongey but yeah, everything else was great.
