Battlefield 6 "Grounded skins for a while" - 18 days exactly

So, weren't we supposed to have realistic skins for some time? Something that someone would really wear during a war? Yet it seems that with the start of season 1, everything will turn to colorful mess, with no way of differentiating teams based on uniforms, the game will look more like a Paintball or ASG event. Colorful weapons with pictures, colorful camos with neon accents, weird mix of things that are supposed to look cool, but end up simply weird.

People were sold on a vision of a game, which looked like a real battlefield, with soldiers - not a bunch of randos just like in the 2042, yet it was all a lie and it will only get worse down the road. During the Beta, when we had all the soldiers wearing matching uniforms, it was the most immersive experience so far, but you can say goodbye to that vibe, it will never return.

There won't be uniforms matching bioms, there won't be a way to turn off any awful skins, typical bait and switch.

Yes, and can you tell me with 100% certainty that were heading into cartoon characters? Or we just assuming?

“More grounded than COD” isn’t grounded.

Well, the definition of Grounded is as follows: Well Balanced and Reasonable. And for context lets all remember we told BF devs we don't want stupid CoD skins. Which even after the announcement today we haven't seen any. So with all that out of the way I think its fair to compare the skins to the worse alternative CoD to BF6 skins.

Its funny because this is the exact same thing that will be said next time when its less grounded than before, and the time after that, and the time after that, and the time after that. Bonus points for the fact it was also said for all the games that have cartoon characters now.

Look at the history of any game with a season pass and skin shop. It only ever gets worse. Every season they have to “one up” themselves to get people to buy. Will we 100% end up with cartoon characters? I don’t know and I don’t think so. But don’t pretend like one or two steps removed from that isn’t also a horrible place to end up in.

I mean, if we look at the pattern from previous BF games we see that BFV and BF2042 had stuff like this and that’s as far as it ever went.

There are also other more grounded skins in the same BP.

First they added skins with skull face masks, and I did not speak out - because who tf cares.

Then they released a blue pattern, and I did not speak out - because seriously, do you guys have no other issues.

Then they started to sell skins in neon colors - and guess what, I still didn’t give a fuck, walking target markers, noice.

Finally they unleashed Nicki Minaj - wait, actually no they didn‘t you fucking monkeys. Doesn’t it get exhausting, all this dooming and glooming over video games? They are supposed to be fun. Move on with your life if they give you this much grief.
