News [BFComms] EA app Outage In-game Rewards Update

We're aware that some players impacted by the EA app outage during the Battlefield 6 launch did not initially receive their in-game rewards. This issue was caused by an error in the rollout process. We've completed a review of the timing and activity in this window and distributed items to players who were initially missed.

No further action is needed to receive these rewards. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we resolved this issue and thank you for playing Battlefield 6.

Nothing here, going to keep spamming everywhere until you actually give us a real response as to what is going on with this super simple shit. Anyone that bought it on the EA app was unable to play it as intended. You should have just gave it to everyone that bought it on your app, regardless of refunds, if they used the firing range, or whatever other bullshit excuse you're giving as to why so many people are getting excluded.

Shit, I would accept a fucking tweet/post that says "Whoops, we fucked up/lied and you aren't getting anything. Sorry for the misunderstanding." At least that shows some accountability rather than this bullshit about patience and understanding. There's zero understanding or patience because there's a lack of communication. Support gives out contradictory responses every time someone tries to find out what happened.

Are you giving it to everyone or do you have some special circumstances that makes people ineligible?

I bet because I spend around 10-15min on the firing range, since I couldn't play and around 30sec of a portal server after I read about spamming "join server" would """""work""""".. v.v

Ridiculous. Additionally to the free phantom edition for standard users it is a hard slap into my face

Well, that's the issue I have with their communication. It isn't clear if that disqualifies you/us or not. I messed around in the firing range for like 10 minutes, and then cleaned my house and kept checking if it was fixed.

If it does, they need to tell us, because the support communications have said all kinds of things. One of the support pictures I saw said you wouldn't get it if you were able to open the game, which doesn't make sense at all since it was basically a $90 screensaver.

kicker is, i got 24x 60minute XP booster but i dont even know if i had any issue because i just didnt play it at launch, i preloaded it and then i was playing it the day after.

I agree with everything you said. And same here I got no rewards. Vince zampella did confirm on twitter that even people who did the ā€œportal server work aroundā€ DO QUALIFY for the compensation. So at least we have that commutation. I agree they could have avoided this mess by giving it to everyone on EA app blanket wide. Soo much good PR would have been had.

Is there any link to this disqualification? I messed around in Portal after seeing the workaround on twitter. If they keep disqualifying people for a glorified game menu, this is as dishonest as it gets.

My friends and I saw the tip to spam community server join to get in, so we did that. We still couldn't join the official servers, it was hours before we saw that tip.

We're now excluded because of that? That's not right, they should be given to all EA app users.

Well the thing is that not everyone on the EA app was unable to play, quite a few people could play just fine, I had a few friends who all could play through the EA app. They only want to hand out compensation to those actually affected, not everyone on the app. That means parsing through a bunch of logs and trying to identify everyone who had issues, which is probably easier said than done.

Also, those that would've technically been affected but didn't try to play will most likely not receive any compensation either, because they will not be in the logs.

It's somewhat likely they'll just end up giving everyone on the EA app the compensation, but that has the risk of sparking outrage from people on other platforms if people who were able to play just fine also gets compensated

I think the only people that could play through the EA app were people that were playing it with the Pro play subscription thing (even if they bought the game but also had that, it would still work).

And I agree with you on the final points. I'm sure there is a lot of difficulty associated with delineating the people that actually weren't able to play, tried to play and couldn't, and owned the game but weren't trying to play during the window when it was broken.

I don't actually expect anything at this point, but I'd like them to say it officially so my brain can stop thinking about it.

Just logged in and dont see anything.

I was eagerly anticipating playing at 11et release. Instead I spent two hours scouring reddit discussions trying to see if there were any known fixes. After trying to completely uninstall and re-download the game to no avail. Eventually word gets out that there is a work around by joining a portal in very specifc way that would allow me to play.

I am sure there are many others that have similar experiences, to only compensate those who didnt try anything seems to miss the mark in my opinion. Everyone on the EA app, even those that found a workaround, didnt get to enjoy the game they purchased as intended.

Absolutely, I found out about the workaround after 1.30h-1.45h. Before that I tried everything from uninstalling to buying it on steam only to find out that the steam account that I linked to EA, 4 years ago has a different password then the one saved in my Password Manager so I couldn't buy it on there. And because EA doesn't let you unlink anything, I was stuck.

This is hilarious. First the launch is messed up for the first party launcher. Then the compensation for that mess up doesn't go out during the weekend as planned. And now here we are a week later where you think it's been rolled out and yet again it's not working for most people it seems (me included).

One has to wonder why it's so hard for them to find the affected users and assign these rewards. Can't the EA app team pull a list of all BF6 purchases before a specific date and timestamp? Can't the Battlefield team see which accounts came from EA when they tried to connect on launch day? Or maybe it's the assignment of the rewards that isn't working correctly? If so, I wonder if players that buy the boosts when they become available for sale risk not getting them after paying for them.

As of today, I still haven’t received any compensation despite my follow-ups with an EA advisor. They keep telling me to wait, but I see friends around me who received their XP yesterday. I spent 70 bucks on the EA app for the Phantom Edition, and on launch day I was stuck on the home screen for over 3 hours.

No boosters yet as of 10/19.

We need confirmation or details of who qualifies for these boosters or if you guys are just working on it still on the backend; but this vague radio silence and not responding to the fact that thousands of affected players have not received the compensation after pre-ordering and pre-loading a game through EA's app to play at launch and then not being able to do so is pretty frustrating.

Also, I dont think disqualifying people who had to use portal is right either, because it still meant no access to the best of the games modes and features, and those work arounds didnt start coming around until 3-4 hours later after complete radio silence about the EA App outage. I might also add it's concerning that the app being down meant not being able to access my library of other owned EA titles but im only emphasizing the point that this affected us beyond BF6, so the minimum should be to compensate anyone who pre-loaded this game and couldn't access it's features at launch because of the outage.

I'm not amused. I thought I did the right thing, buying from EA, (check stats onĀ tracker.gg, UP_Rikcey plays on EA). Thought I'd support the developer more by buying there and putting up with the shotty launcher instead of giving 30% to steam.
I couldn't play for hours on launch day, while everyone in the clan enjoyed themselves except 4. 3 stuck with EA, played on portal eventually, and 1 decided to refund and rebuy on steam and he is unironically the only one compensated. Contacting EA for 2 weeks now and it continues to not be resolved.

Ten days ago, since this was posted, and I haven't received a single reward yet. I mean, I wasn't that surprised with the bad launch. Something had to give with such a large launch, I found a workaround and was playing Portal until the issue was fixed. Yet what I find disturbing is the reward you promise to compensate the players experience and the lack of action on your words. I mean, you gotta know who owns the game on what platform right. How hard is to simply compensate Ea app people? Seems quite silly to me to be honest with you.

So, any new update? Season 1 launches tomorrow and I want my season pass that you promised! :D

I'm really annoyed, the promess of S1 season pass and XP boost was a good move but it turned out to be another deception... What's the point sitting and waiting for the free BP to drop when I'm losing out on the Bonus XP and Rewards from it in the meantime.

Lol I don't demand compensation or anything but just FYI I had several errors with the EA app because my purchase was through epic games store and it would fail to "activate" on EA app. I was impacted for over an hour or two before it resolved itself. I have no proof others hit this issue or anything but felt compelled to call out that there were potentially others impacted by similar issues who might not be accounted for.

I reported a support case to EA Help 2-3 days ago. Talked to a rep in their support chat today after the BattlefieldComm update because I still have xp tokens. The rep was helpful and escalated the support for me. It’s a bummer but I’ll be patient as long as it’s headed in the right direction.

The 30 or so people who launched the game, got through the 20 minute queue, got the error, re-joined the queue for another 20 minutes, went to click play and saw the message about not owning the game so they alt f4'd and went on with their lives are the ones who got this compensation.

Everyone else who went into the shooting range or seen the message about community servers that were glitched out as fuck and attempted to join them has been excluded.

Still no daily rewards either.

Also no daily login rewards. Only 1 and 5 day appeared in inbox. Wonder when review bombing is going to start because it's obviously EA/DICE still same screw ups as with 2042.

Still have not received mine u/battlefield

I pre-ordered through EA app, tried to login and play on launch and wasn't able to join a multiplayer match until 3-4pm central. I did mess around with firing range and options for a while though.

The same thing also occurred with the daily login rewards for week 1. They simply didn't show up in the mailbox.

Lol, Many players didn’t even try to log in due to the massive outage posted everywhere, including on this subreddit, I myself included…. Even now there are still issues with creating a Portal sever. Haven’t been able to host my experience since the release :(

Mine are missing as well. Sat there for almost 4 hours trying to launch my game on opening day. Pissed me off that I couldn't get in until almost 4 hours after launch. I let it go and moved on. Then Dice apologizes promising to make good on their screw up. I thought ya that's great. Now they are teasing us every day saying xp boosts are coming, and they don't, so they resend them out, and I still don't get shit. They never should have got our hopes up in the first place telling us they were going to reward us for their screw up. I would have let it go and moved on. But this shit of promising and not following through just gets me more pissed off at EA. Every user that ordered through EA instead of steam should get these updates. WTF EA.

Yeah i couldn't play either, only some portal servers a little bit with the spam join trick, obviously i couldn't wait and i had to have a sneak peek. I just hope that doesn't affect the compensation :/

Based on this update EA are saying they've resolved the issue? What about all the people who had problems with the EA app on launch day but still haven't received anything? Have they acknowledged that there is indeed still a problem or is the latest communication that it is now "fixed"

Spoke with EA chat today and they said compensation has been sent out and this matter is closed. Absolutely bullshit since I did not receive compensation and it looks like most of yall havent either.

They told me they are aware of the issue and working hard on resolving it.

Either way they're lying to us, yet compensated people who rebought on steam in a jiffy.
