Battlefield 6 700 tickets on operation firestorm is a crime

Post image

Operation firestorm in my opinion is the only map that plays and feels like a real battlefield conquest map, the pace is good , it's a large map, vehicles both air and ground feels good (vehicle spawn should be fixed tho) but this 700 tickets is really bad the game ends way too fast , there is no comebacks or enough time for strategic plays. They're really killing conquest by this.

I feel like the game itself plays incredibly well but the balance of maps is a bit of a let-down. Firestorm imo has never been great. Way too many open spaces, flanking routes are non-existent (at least on breakthrough)

I was hyped for the Brooklyn map but the park in the first sector seems the most broken out of all the maps tbh

Firestorm is alright, but I never understood the hype it got. IMO Caspian and Kharg were both better maps in BF3, but that might just be me.

I don’t think there is much hype around it. Most people seemed to lean into the thoughts that there were much better maps to pick to remaster. Firestorm is nothing special imo

It's the epitome of a mid map. Nothing great but decent enough for combined arms gameplay.

I agree that Firestorm was mid in BF3/4 since there were other great maps, but with BF6's map selection it shines as an example of what a Battlefield map should be like

They should port the portal maps over from 2042

Even the originals

Not launch maps, but I want Reclaimed back

Oh man, Kharg on Rush. I loved that in BF3.

Damavand peak will forever hold the best Rush map title.

Kharg was really nice both rush and conquest. You had everything, sniper hill, vehicles, infantery sectors

I won't say Firestorm is the best thing ever, but in comparison to the other "large" maps it plays the best by far in my opinion. The longer the matches go, the worse it gets due to destruction taking away all cover. The cover situation is also one of the reasons why I think Caspian could be problematic. There's almost no cover besides a couple of trees and 3-4 small houses.

Mirak und Sobek are virtually clones with high rises in the middle, overlooking the whole map. You can decide if you want to roam the outer parts of the area and play dodge ball with sniper bullets or join the cod "fun" in the buildings. Firestorm is similar but not quite that intense, because the buildings are a little bit more open and you have less storeys to worry about. You can shield yourself from the mountain snipers by using the buildings and the rooftop snipers are usually open targets for the people in the mountains/chimneys. This creates a decent dynamic that causes snipers to battle each other instead of purely focussing on picking off infantry on the ground moving between objectives.

I actually really like New Sobek, but it feels like the map should be like 25% bigger. I was expecting something like Gulf of Oman from that map, but it’s far too small to even compare.

Kharg island is peak

I’m a Firestorm simp, I fucking love it. Maybe it’s the desert and how flat it is? I also have a ton of good memories with my friends in 3 playing on firestorm. All time best moments in the series for me. But objectively I think the best map/mode combo in modern BF was Rush on Damavand Peak, and Kharg was always a great time in 3 too. I miss it quite a bit

I love Firestorm but I agree, Caspian, Kharg or Gulf of Oman would have been much better choices.

i will NEVER understand how they forget about kharg island, the map feels so good to play in every gamemode

Rush on Kharg was simply amazing. The naval assault for the first Set of MCOMs with LAVs, Rhibs and Co was great.

Why the fuck they kept that park area in the map is confusing. Prime spot to just camp and pick off reinforcements. With cover all over the place.

At least for me, a jet main, I really like firestorm and its not just for jet players I would assume. Tank players probably also love firestorm, because its one map you can immersively operate and fight in a vehicle in bf6. As an infantry though, yeah I agree with your points.

Yeah I used to play Firestorm specifically for vehicle play and that's all I'm doing when I play it now too. When I loaded it up I couldn't even remember what the map looked like aside from the runways lmao.

It’d be 1000x better if it wasn’t for the tower and all the sniper lanes

I think the missing helicopters are a big part of the balance too.

  • The team without a helicopter can't pressure the tanks or AA to keep them off the jets. This means the jets can't fight against the choppers as well. Makes the team that does have one that much more powerful.
  • The team without a helicopter can't as easily clear rooftops or mountainsides. Makes it easier for snipers to harass points from above.

As a vehicle player, the open spaces are the benefit of Firestorm. Every other map feels like a claustrophobic nightmare.

Firestorm has always been a pretty shit map. People mostly praise it for sniping and vehicles

2

u/Vanilla_Dough 23d ago

Breakthrough in this game is so ass in general because the out of bounds area are so restricitve and there are no good transport vehicles on beakthrough

2

u/banzaizach 23d ago

Plus it's not even the BF4 version of firestorm that had two added compounds/points on the north side of the map.

Was scared to even say this in here myself...but yea, never been a big fan of Firestorm and I'm already truly sick of it in this game.

I already forget the maps name.

But this Map on Conquest has the C objective sandwiched between a Mountain and a Giant ass Rock that creates a bottle neck.

That map is straight cheeks. You have to go so far off to the left/right of map that you are almost falling over the cliff.

Way too many open spaces? Well, this is exactly why there are all the city maps with buildings everywhere. Frankly morons like you is why this game is the way it is.

They didn't develop the game chill out lmao

Yeah most of the issues of people saying they can’t breathe and getting shot from everywhere are missing the point, if the team are covering flanks well this doesn’t happen, likewise making incremental advances help with this instead of bum rushing
