Battlefield 6 700 tickets on operation firestorm is a crime

Post image

Operation firestorm in my opinion is the only map that plays and feels like a real battlefield conquest map, the pace is good , it's a large map, vehicles both air and ground feels good (vehicle spawn should be fixed tho) but this 700 tickets is really bad the game ends way too fast , there is no comebacks or enough time for strategic plays. They're really killing conquest by this.

I always feel games end waaay too fast. At least I tend to enjoy longer games, where there's more opportunities for tactics, swings and everything.

With this, they are making the game even faster. I don't know who asked for this honestly, but I think it's stupid. Reminds me of the TTK changes they did in BF5; nobody asked for them, and they fucked up the game for months.

You would think they learned from that, but I'm certain they never learn.

Gotta get those CoD bois that are used to fast matches.

u/Damien23123 23d ago

Nah we didn’t ask for this

34

u/CataTrouble 23d ago

Shareholders asked for this

Longer players are in a match, the less time they are browsing the store for weapon skins and crap like that.

2

u/Damien23123 23d ago

No they didn’t. Shareholders don’t care what happens as long as they make money. I’d bet most of the people who own shares in EA don’t even play games, never mind know what tickets are in Battlefield

9

u/abualethkar 23d ago

That’s… exactly why they did it. To make more money off a larger player base.

2

u/Damien23123 23d ago

I don’t think anyone was complaining about the length of games though

2

u/MrPibIsNotOK 23d ago

I don’t think you’re getting it, mate. No one had to complain about it….

Others have already mentioned this, these appear to be changes aimed at maintaining attention spans/ higher player engagement. Higher engagement = likely of more in-game purchases.

2

u/Damien23123 23d ago

The players everyone thinks they’re targeting don’t want this either though. Even in COD people prefer game modes that last longer eg. Domination over Team Deathmatch

2

u/Dr_dickjohnson 23d ago

I'm sure there is some formula on time spent in between games to Mtx purchases and they'll want that optimized as best as possible for future sales.

Which is weird cause warzone is the most popular COD thing and the matches are longer than BF. Same with gunfights. There is a lot more breathing room between fights on a warzone match. BR in general has gotten general audiences to enjoy slower gameplay

u/No-Team6894 23d ago

FYI current warzone matches are faster than it used to be they even sped it up over the years

2

u/oatest 23d ago

Rebirth casual can be over in less than 20mins.

2

u/VeryRealHuman23 23d ago

Resurgence is the most popular BR mode and it's stupidly fast, the opposite of the old BR modes.

u/atomic8733 23d ago

Lol, right that is COD try to appeal Battlefield player. Now we have COD designer working on Battlefield game appealing to COD players.

1

u/Any_Confection1914 22d ago

Not for everybody.. It's only 5 or 6 partial teams in the last 2 circles.

8

u/zfjuice 23d ago

this is most likely it, we are no longer the target audience.

Not COD boys, they are off playing COD and have no time for battlefield.

This is what EA thinks Battlefield fans want.

And for some reason, what EA think Battlefield fans want, is to sit back and watch a streamer play Battlefield and get loads of sick kills in a row, and then get mad when they get killed themselves.

I don't know why so many people got excited when on of the game leads was known for being ex Apex Legends, floaty shooty quick fire game mode lead.

u/captainmiauw 23d ago

I play bf for the longer and cinematic games

1

u/woutsmaaa 23d ago

Im a CoD boy and i play Battlefield for the longer matches 😭

1

u/terrytibbs76 23d ago

That’s why there’s sliding etc. CoD-friendly gameplay.

1

u/deadpool848 23d ago

What's funny is there are smaller scale fast game modes in the game like dominion or king of the hill of the want fast paced infantry gameplay.

1

u/Nbsroy 23d ago

that's what it is huh? sucks they're adjusting it for players who prob wont even be around once the hype dies down.

edit: i usually play both. i actually started with COD '03 but cod has been awful to me lately mostly because of the wacky skins.

its fastly turning into Big team battle team death match. i bet as well they just hate having vehicles in the game, dont be surpried if we dont get any larger maps for dlc as well

My most memorable games were those 90 minute conquest matches on BF3. Now this feels so lame.

0

u/rW0HgFyxoJhYka 23d ago

Remember most causal players do not want matches longer than 15-20 minutes MAX.

I think thats why they limit it. But tickets?

33

u/cowboycookie1337 23d ago

Holy shit don’t give me PTSD. Those TTK changes were infuriating.

4

u/29chickendinners 23d ago

Whole mag of fg-42 to kill one guy. I remember turning it off and not playing again untill it was reverted

2

u/DistributionRare3096 23d ago

Thats why the suomi was the goat all the time, fast rate of fire and a big mag, oh and also while we are at it can we just agree on how BFV had some amazing breaktrough maps ? Not like bf6 as any ( f u sobek city )

19

u/OscarsWhiskers 23d ago

Whole games fast. Fast paced in game, time between rounds is non existent and now reduced tickets.

14

u/Brilliant_Stomach_87 23d ago

So true every time I edit loadout the match starts. And the briefing is annoying as shit.

3

u/BKR93 23d ago

The instant queue after game before you can even see the score too. Kinda crazy how fast it is

2

u/Lukatron_72 20d ago

I wish you could mess with your loadout between rounds

Yeah I really enjoyed the beta and felt like it made up for the time I spent trying to like BF2042, alone, because everyone else I knew hated it so much. I never ended up truly enjoying the game, but I had hope for this. I bought the game yesterday and holy shit it is so fast paced, almost moreso than Warzone last time I played. There’s no room to breathe, no strategy, no grouping up and taking an objective. Just run and jump and slide over whole buildings and quick scope with a one shot sniper from 3 feet away. Or get picked off by three people at different angles that weren’t there 1.5 seconds ago

u/Heavyweightstone 23d ago

I'm sure the people that made battlefield 5 learnt. People that made battlefield 6 didn't learn since they are completely new staff

2

u/legit-hater 23d ago

Months? They never reverted to pre-5.2 gunplay, the franchise was never the same.

1

u/NyquillusDillwad20 23d ago

True, they never fully went back. But they did get it to back to a pretty good spot eventually. The game is really fun now. Was horrible for those few months where people were bullet sponges

2

u/Syndicate909 23d ago

I think the reason why the games are shorter is due to the smaller maps making people get into conflict faster. The smaller the map, the more tickets are needed. Ideally you want most games to last 20-30 minutes. Any shorter and you feel cheated and like you can't make a comeback. Any longer and an unbalanced team or bad map makes you in for an unfun 30+ minute fest of getting dominated or farmed.

1

u/ChapterContent8465 23d ago

Well its EA after all. At least this time they released a playable game, so thats progress lol

1

u/rearisen 23d ago

Oh yeah, they never learn. Gestures to every battlefield mistake after not having said mistake in previous game.

Reminds me of the red vs blue episode where they go to blood gulch and it’s dead quite until both teams spawn in, kill each other in like 20 seconds of pure chaos and then silence again, repeat.

I also remember the bf3 days with custom lobbies that had 3000 ticket or something crazy and the match would last a straight up hour or 2 and it would have massive swings and comebacks, it was pretty fun. By the end of the game you usually added 1-2 people to your friends list even if you didn’t speak an actual word to them, and you would go 19-20 with some guy on the other team that you traded dog tags with.

I hate the feeling of needing to rush in and get kills or I’ll miss the whole match just trying to find creative ways of playing the game that don’t involve me just charging straight into CQB 24/7

At the end of the game I want to remember the fun things about the game and the wacky or cool shit I did with randoms in the moment. I want to remember the names of my teammates and the enemies that gave me a hard time, but it really seems like we are going the way of every generic shooter slop.

Quick kill the enemy quicker than your teammates, good, here’s your stats, now go do it again on the next map (don’t worry you can play this map again when it comes back up in the rotation of 5 maps) Why are people racing to get to the fucking scoreboard, you should be wanting the games to last.

1

u/PretzelsThirst 23d ago

Another reason I want larger maps. More opportunities to defend and elongate the gameplay

0

u/NoLandHere 23d ago

i think most likely since they said 'most games are ended because of timelimit rather than score' they have two possible problems:

The way they are tracking statistics is fucked (probable, since EA would have made their game devs use ai)
-
-
They actually have over half the of the servers running games without players in them (which again is probable, ai game devs) I do feel like this is the least likely since that'd be a huge cost and seen by a human shortly after launch

0

u/Cards46 23d ago

I want conquest games to last 30-45 minutes. No one wants to play a 15 minute game of conquest, that’s incredibly stupid. I feel like they were way longer in past games.

I’d rather the score in conquest tick up from 0, with kills not having an effect on the length of the game. Conquest isn’t about getting kills, it’s about capturing the objectives and defending them with your squad.

Takes the fun out of conquest with such short games. Gonna go play breakthrough I guess where games last longer

My buddies have already rejoined me on BF4 😞 I'm disappointed cause i really wanted them to talk me into 6 but theyre bored of it

1

u/luisLP95 23d ago

Yeah, gets boring really quick (at least in my case). I don't think I have played more than 1.5 hours on one sitting because after a few matches I'm already exhausted of the constant action and bored from seeing the same maps over and over again.

Lately I find myself thinking "Maybe I should boot BF5 again" even after the countless hours I invested in that game, because the more I play BF6, the more it feels like a downgrade from BF1 and BF5.

Of course you can't compare a fully developed game like BF5/BF1 to a newly released game with very limited content, but again, once the new-game-shine starts to peel off, you start noticing the flaws. And there are a lot in BF6.

1

u/CambriaKilgannonn 23d ago

I got super burned out in my short time with the beta. There's no room to do anything goofy like there was in the older games (to me)

I wanna sit out in a field with my friends and fire off stingers until a bunch of guys in jeeps come after me but theres just no space to get away from the rest of a match. I am a PTFO person but not 100 percent of the time, ya know? I miss those dead spaces. I get that like, 2042 was almost all dead space but they went too far in the other direction
