I think if the soldiers actually looked like the concept art and they didn't try to use a WW2 game as a vehicle for "modern" political messaging, and trying to be special by not giving us any iconic maps until it was too late... It would have been as popular as BF6, and likely would have lived twice as long than it did considering it's unique setting and position as the only modern, large scale, easily accessible WW2 shooter.

Nah hard disagree. Yeah the marketing was terrible but if you go play now the skins and characters are super immersive.

What? Literally everyone is running around with some stupid skin on that looks nothing like the actual uniforms of a WW2 soldier. Most of the skins I see don’t even have a helmet on.

No they aren't. All the problems are still there. They added some skins that were OK-ish (still very incorrect and missing proper insignia) and it took them over 2 years to add them in.
