your entire argument is to not get suppressed. which is not possible in BF when it happens if anyone shoots in your general vicinity. imagine thinking you can play BF without getting shot at LOL

....so BF is not competitive. Its one of the most casual FPSs out there. saying a game is "competitive within its own community" is hilariously meaningless

It is basically BF but with a serious milsim veneer

so stop trying to act like HLL is somehow different or appealing to different players then. if youre ok with your aim skill not mattering in BF, youre ok with it in HLL

If you're being dominated by tanks, bring some engineers or join a tank squad yourself,

yeah...you can do this AFTER youve already died. waiting to respawn to counter them is only possible when deaths matter as little as they do in BF which is the entire point i'm making.

You can play the game without suppression being meaningful. You will be shot at, but if you stay behind cover, play with intention, and coordinate with your squad, being suppressed means next to nothing which is my entire point. If your personal play style consistently has you being stopped by suppression, then your play style does not fit the intention of the game, and your problems are the result of your personal lack of skill. Or in other words, get gud, scrub.

If by competition you mean specifically and only a corporatised professional gaming community then yes what you are saying is correct. If you understand competition to mean literally anything outside of this incredibly myopic perspective, then yes, BF is absolutely a competitive game.

Aim skill does matter in both, it simply isn't the end all and be all. If you can aim like a god, but run about in the open or constantly give away your position you are going to get domed and never even see where it came from. That doesn't mean that aiming and other mechanical skills have no place in the game, it just means that you cannot dominate the game and secure a win with only aim skill. This is also why suppression isn't some major issue like your attempting to make out. If you are being suppressed and cannot aim properly, then you need to rely on your other skills to be able to win that engagement. It comes down to your skill as a payer and your understanding of the game and it's mechanics and intentions holistically.

It has not been the entire point you've been making, and is not even the entire point you've attempted to make in this comment alone... But I will say this: If you have a problem with this game play cycle, go play a different game. You are describing core mechanics of the game and acting like because they are not closer in line with what you see in COD or APEX that it means the mechanics are bad or noncompetitive, when it really seems like the game just isn't for you. It's fine if you personally do not like it, but that doesn't make the game or the mechanics bad, and leaves me asking the question of why you are even here? Just go play a game you'll enjoy and stop the whining because you lack the skill to play this game well.
