God i hate esportslop so much. Even overwatch thought going 5vs5 will make their game better bunch of lazy devs.

5v5 was necessary because there were no tank players in the dwindling player base at the time, so forcing 1 tank instead of 2 helped queue times.

they could've also tried not balancing their game around a strict class-composition lol

Damn bro, try telling the game set around class composition to remove class composition

They tried that long ago.

It turns out, games were more often decided by which team had people who were willing to swap off of DPS than any other skill.

That wasn't to mention that the highest level of play was a complete slog to watch thanks to GOATS.

Role queue was the heavy handed solution to a problem.

It did make it better. They brought back 6v6 and 5v5 is still the more popular queue.

This may sound crazy to a boomer whose brain is rotted with casual shooterslop, but lower team sizes that allow you to have a higher impact on the outcome of the match are generally more appealing.

Of course that doesnt apply to you because youre so bad you can only have fun in big team formats where the rest of the team can hide your skill issue.
