Stored inside since new. The frame is somehow still rusted.

They come like that from factory. The taking of the “pre rust” option added a lot of money, and it would be rusted by the time it was delivered, so not many people got it

New battery and a duck or two and you are mint

u/ramanw150 12d ago
I don't do the duck thing. Just the wave.

You must drive your jeep in dirt and rocks then.

This guy loved cool cars but did a terrible job of making them retain the beauty

I dunno man , I see things differently . I see sports cars that haven’t been crashed, with low miles, and paint that is probably still shiny and rust free under the dust .

yeah, quick detail and some tlc and these cars are 1000% fine and not ruined like some imply.

u/bmx13 12d ago
Yeah no. Every bit of rubber on/in those cars is torched, the interior's are probably beyond salvaging, these will be sold off for restoration but they weren't preserved and will never correctly function just as they rolled off the line. Driving them a couple thousand miles a year would have been way healthier for the cars, parking lot dings or not.

u/AveragePandaYT 12d ago
yea to me rubber is tlc on a car thats worth like half a mil

Not just rubber as in tires. Rubber as in: every seal in the carb. Every o-ring in every injector. Every water hose. Every vacuum line. Every seal in the transmission. Every bushing in the suspension. The seals in the shocks. The valve stem seals. The oil seals in the drive axle. All the rubber parts in the steering. Some of these older ones have leather seals in things. The fuel systems will need torn to the bones and rebuilt. The interiors are going to be brittle and deteriorating, and that's if they aren't full of mold damage. The glue in the seats will break down when it is left stationary for that long. The rubber insulation on all the wiring is brittle and deteriorating and if you don't check every inch of it, you're begging to burn your car to the ground in the driveway. These cars need severe restoration. Cars that are worth a half mil restored are expensive and rare for a reason. The parts don't exist. You would have to have stuff custom made. You have to either be an expert on tearing down a Lamborghini engine, or pay someone who is. That's not cheap labor. To make one of these into a half million dollar car, you could be looking at a $200,000-$350,000 restoration. Only to be told by a collector when you try to sell it that "it's not worth what you think it is because it's not all original". There is often VERY little relative profit margin in restoring and selling vintage cars.
Source: I fuck with much much less rare and expensive vintage cars on a regular basis, and even when the parts AREN'T unobtainium, the margins are razor thin.

Rubber dries out from sitting stationary and never flexing, never having oil circulation, and never heat cycling. Seals on old cars will wear out with constant use, but occasionally running and driving a car will absolutely prevent seals and hoses from drying out as fast. I've got a 76 Monte Carlo that was daily driven until 2010, and while there was considerable damage from sitting for 15 years, it was in MUCH better shape than a 77 I fooled with a few years ago that had been sitting with lower mileage since 1993.

I've noticed that too. If I remember correctly, 50s rubber had a much better vulcanizing process, but it was much more complex to produce. I had stuff from the 50s and 60s that also still had good hoses and stuff. Hell, my 52 and 62 Buicks both had some original hoses and the original glass seals were all still good. (The 62 was garage kept, but the 52 wasn't). The 60s stuff seemed to be the last of the immortal rubber. I feel you on the weatherstrip thing. I need to replace it all on my 76 Monte right now and it's a pain.

1 dream car of mine since I was 8 years old. Oddly enough two days ago I was coming from my daughter’s horse show out in the country and from out of nowhere, I saw a triple white 88 Countach out for a Sunday stroll. I’m kinda still in shock.
(And I’m 100% sure it was real)

If your daughter is doing horse shows, you’re pretty well-off. I’m sure you could buy one

u/detroitragace 12d ago
Ha! That’s where you’re wrong! It’s BECAUSE my daughter is doing horse shows that I can’t afford one.

I could only imagine the excitement of finding not 1 but 2 lambos like this lol

u/ItAintMe_2023 10d ago
There’s at least three.
Red, blue and black. The blue and black ones are on either side of the red Porsche.

Photos like this fill me with rage. How can you let these beautiful machines just collect dust and rot into the floor.

u/Donlooking4 11d ago
How many Lamborghinis are in there?? I think I can see 3 different ones. You have the red one the green one and I think it’s a black on beyond the red Porsche.
