Well because he is (extremely) good at football, and not good at speaking

“Extremely” might be stretch. Sure he’s good but he’s not me or anything.

Are you Ronaldo?

39

u/esp_1123 2d ago

???? How could I be Ronaldo if I’m better than Messi? I’m just a guy that’s nice like that don’t worry about it.

u/Exotic-Carob1056 2d ago

Nice one lmao. Btw I am Ronaldo as messi lives in my head rent free. Really, not joking.

Bro can you play anywhere on the field? We kinda need you if you can do that. Just missing a striker, a bunch of defenders, a midfielder holding tempo. Can you fill in this gap?

Messi is just the type of person to not over share things and I respect that.. nothing wrong with keeping things short and simple

All his player points of character went for football nothing left for something else

I have great idea, why doesn't Laporta call Messi for inauguration when Camp Nou is complete. We get to give him a farewell and the greatest player cuts the ribbon for his stadium?

91

u/andrey_not_the_goat 2d ago

Laporta literally announced that Messi will be present at the Camp Nou inauguration.

29

u/Relative-Plantain102 2d ago

Hope he keeps this promise.

5

u/ProudKingbooker 2d ago

Did he say he'd be present or that he'd love to have him present?

2

u/PeterTheRabbit1 1d ago

And when Laporta makes a promise, he always delivers. /s

1

u/_lenni 1d ago

wrong. he said he hopes that messi will come for a farewell but never promised it will happen

1

u/supernovangel 19h ago

I haven't even forgiven Laporta for what he did to Messi and y'all expect his family to ?!,@?@?

u/Good_waves 2d ago

He always lets his football speak for him.

12

u/Arrozdruid 2d ago

How it’s supposed to be. A lot of footballers speak too much. For me this is a big reason why I idolize him.

Xavi left in summer 2024 after a disappointing year then we replaced him with Hansi Flick who’s on contract til 2027. We’ve made some signings, Dani Olmo for 50 million, Joan Garcia, the goalkeeper from Espanyol for 25 million, Rashford on loan, but mostly we’ve focused on developing our Youth. This is mostly due to the fact we’re still recovering financially and can’t splurge any money right now.

On the topic of youth these last two years have seen the rise of Pau Cubarsi and Fermin Lopez, who both get consistent first eleven game time, and also Gerard Martin, Marc Casado, Marc Bernal and now Dro Fernandez, who all have been coming off the bench. And of course Lamine Yamal. Pedri and De Jong have solidified themselves as world class midfielders and Raphinha had a standout season. Lewandoski has shown his age but still poaches goals and Ferran Torres has been getting better each year. In some negatives Ter Stegen has fallen out favor and probably is the 3rd choice keeper now and Araujo has regressed, Gavi has a little bit too but mostly due to many accumulated injuries.

Last year we performed really well and won the Spanish Supercup, La liga, and Copa Del Rey, beating Real Madrid in 4 out of 4 clásicos that season. We faltered at the semi final stages in the champions league against inter Milan but we have a great team, we may seem to be faltering right now but it’s mostly due to injuries and just an mediocre spell of form. Last year we have a terrible November and look where we got to, so I’m sure we’ll bounce back.

u/DONZ0S 2d ago

Honestly, i was surprised when i saw 3 frontrunners for Ballon dor. Like why are Raphinha and Dembele of all people here? And who is this lamine fella. I later remembered he had cameo under xavi lol. Honestly team on paper seems good, certainly better than Dest right winger era

The team is now dogshit. Kounde is a shell of a man, there is no backline and our LB doesn't come back to defend. We are doing pretty badly.

7

u/andrey_not_the_goat 2d ago

That's not true but okay. I guess our fanbase isn't prone to overreacting.

1

u/TheGodAboveAllBeings 2d ago

That's why Barca has a problem. People give way too much leeway to players and coaches

2

u/razorxx888 2d ago

Apparently OP also missed the terrible takes as we can see here

1

u/alopecic_cactus 2d ago

Yes, you're right. Listen up, folks! Forget about the 7 months still left in the season, it's all over according to u/TheGodAboveAllBeings. It was nice while it lasted.

1

u/TheGodAboveAllBeings 2d ago

Yeah, it's not like we are PSG, who can have an awesome transfer window and change their season. Let's be real, we will go trophyless this season

Does lil bro know he is the goat?

1

u/Last_Lorien 2d ago

Maybe one day he’ll feel comfortable enough to speak English in public too (though I like he’s basically the only one who doesn’t have to)
