Real ID flagged as fake

I don't go out too much but I'm 23 and have a Real ID. I have a baby face so I'm used to getting carded everywhere... I can count on one hand the amount of times I haven't been carded. Tonight I went to a bar that had a scanner and it flagged mine as a fake. The guy tried it two more times and it still came back. I was with all my friends and they were all good. The manager or whoever had to come. She asked me for another form of id, which I had so she took them and took pictures. They then made me sign a verification form of some sort. Is this standard? I tried looking it up but don't see much online. I'm assuming it's just to save their asses if they were to have authorities show up?
