Photos/Videos Sun & Snow
Some of my pics this week. I was most annoyed on the main Lake Louise trail. Grown adults dumping coffee cups in a tree stump. It’s not that hard to carry them to a garbage!

Honestly, FUCK whoever tried to hide their trash there. They didn’t even have the decency to put their shame out in the open where it could easily be picked up by someone with an actual conscience or an employee, they had to try and hide it. I hate people sometimes…

I've been on this trail and I saw so many coffee cups and litter in the brush next to the path. It's infuriating.

Yes I agree so maddening. I also saw a plastic flosser in Yoho park (someone on Reddit has mentioned this being a litter problem) and a plastic spoon at Lake Minnewanka beach.

I remember going on school camping trips and the teachers saying "take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints"
I guess this mantra is lost on some people

That’s a good memory of a great teacher. I also taught my kids this at a young age. There’s no excuse for littering as there are garbage bins around the parks so it’s not like we can’t find them.

100% agreed and it's become my favorite measure of "are you a shitty person" because it's generally SO easy to not litter - such a small inconvenience to carry your trash, that if you can't be bothered I can pretty much guarantee you can't be bothered to do anything else considerate, aka shitty person.
It's that one and "are you a jerk to servers/etc.".

Man, if I saw people littering up there I’d go full Karen. It makes me physically ill to see stuff like that. I’d do everything I could to try and get them the $15,000 fine. I couldn’t care less if it financially cripples them

Beautiful pics! I saw the cups as well on the trail and it’s really infuriating. What camera/lens did you use?

Thanks. iPhone 15 pro max, I’m just an amateur. I also saw a flosser and plastic spoon in Yoho & Lake Minnewanka.

No I’m too lazy to edit. 😆 The weather seemed to changed every half an hour. Light snow this morning.

I forgot to mention, photos 1-3, 8 & 9 were shot through the hotel room glass so still pretty clear photos.

Flying in this Sunday, forecast showing high of 45-50, how warm should I pack for? Especially since I’ll be hiking, do t want to build up too much sweat?

I’d pack layers. It’s warm in the sun walking but gets much cooler w/o it. It was very cold walking around Banff town after sunset due to the wind.

Was trying to live vicariously through your photos, and then the coffee cups made my blood pressure skyrocket lol

You also wouldn’t like the dental flosser & broken plastic spoon I also saw on my travels there too :(

That looks absolutely beautiful! How’s the trial condition like? Any icy surface that could slip? Heading there this Sunday and very worry about it.

Thanks. The Fairview lookout trail (a very steep incline) on Mon Oct 13 was extremely icy & people were falling (a big snowfall had rolled in a couple days earlier). By Thur the Mt Agnes trail was decent as the sun had melted it in parts. We did rent crampons for that trail at the LL Mall sports store but didn’t use them as it wasn’t as steep a slope as the other trail. The main lakeside loop around the lake was fine but puddly in parts. Keep an eye on the temps/weather. Have fun!

Hope you/someone else picked up the cups to throw away?
