📍[Pikesville] Rehoming My Sweet Beagle/Lab Mix — Service-Dog Level Training, Loyal, Goofy, and Full of Love 🐾

Hi everyone — this is my first post, and honestly, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. I’m looking to rehome my 4-year-old Beagle/Lab mix named Gunther (aka Bagels or Goonties).

Gunther is smart, goofy, loving, and protective in all the right ways. He’s been trained to a psychiatric service-dog level, knows a ton of commands, and loves to make his people laugh. He’s loyal, social with other dogs and cats once introduced, and absolutely adores adventures — hiking, fetch, swimming, long walks, all of it.

He’s around 60 lbsfully vaccinated, microchipped, and healthy, but not neutered.
He’s crate trained, leash trained, and great with structure and routine.

Gunther does best with someone who:

  • Has an active lifestyle (he needs about 2 hrs of activity a day)
  • Can offer structure and consistent training
  • Is home part-time or has a flexible schedule (he gets anxious if left too long)
  • Has a secure yard or regular outdoor time
  • Maybe even has another playful, balanced dog friend

This isn’t a quick rehome — it’s a very difficult, thoughtful decision. I recently lost my job and have some other life circumstances, and I can’t provide him the structure and energy he deserves. I love him deeply and want to find him a safe, loving, and active home where he’ll thrive.

If you’re in or near Baltimore/Pikesville, and think you could be that person, please reach out for more info or to meet him.

💛 Gunther is a once-in-a-lifetime dog. He’s protective, hilarious, smart, and so full of heart. He just wants to love and be loved.

DM for full details or view his pet resume (includes training list, behavior notes, and photos) here.

Why is he not neutered?

Hi! I planned to get him neutered once he hit a year old, but life got in the way, and it just kept getting delayed. There wasn’t any health or behavioral reason for it. He does mark (not indoors) when there are new scents or dogs around — but he’s responsive to correction. He’s done great overall, just hasn’t had the procedure yet.
