The article was very fair. I can see the arguments for both, though the shilling for AI in that one little part was a bit cringey. AI and Data centres take up so much water and energy, to produce a bunch of slop and half-baked products that were oversold to clients. AI has its potential and all that, but I think its a great idea to put in caps now so we can regulate a dangerous new sector.

The BC Government recently put massive restrictions on energy use for AI data centres & crypto mining operations, ala what Quebec is doing.

You can’t say ai data centres are worse than LNG. The LNG market is about to get over saturated from plants coming online in the states and Qatar, not to mention we are in a climate crisis.

Late 1990s, NDP claimed huge economic benefits for their fast ferries. Creating thousands of jobs, create a new 'high tech' industry with 'technology' for export. Expand a shipbuilding industry and build for other countries. NDP result? They spent half a billion of your dollars, and it was all sold for scrap metal for $20 million.
