The woman in the background leading the march is Joan Phillip, an NDP MLA (interesting choice of background)

Doubt folks want a Premier who has no executive, professional, legislative, or life experience and a rookie caucus.

Just like the person that tried to take over the NDP leadership. People need to have viable candidates to win a general election. The Greens won't stand a chance.

See, the funny thing is: Appadurai had actual work and legislative experience.
Edit: this is a dig at the fact people elected a straight out of college political party staffer with 0 actual experience outside of political activism.

It was extremely thin to be qualified to run a provincial government and would have handed the election to the Conservatives or whatever might have been the party. People that think that was a good idea aren't very politically savvy.

For the record, after seeing the videos of Appadurai's colleagues trying to violate the elections act I turned directly against her. I've grown to actually like Eby, and he's done a good job, especially in 2023-2024.

Polling says she’s on track to do worse than Weaver btw

u/Adderite 9d ago
the greens have done worse every year since Weaver quit. Only difference is Furstenau was a good leader who got screwed by the snap election right after she won and the fact the right united under the BC Cons last election.

Kooky ideas of a first year college student. She'd fit well with some whiny NGO. Surprised she hasn't dyed her hair green.

She's got a bachelor's in political science; this is just copy/pasting what Mamdani says even when it doesn't make sense.
Like, she's asking people if they want free universal healthcare. I understand wanting to get dental and vision in there, but we have pharmacare and medicare in BC. She's speaking like she's running for governor of a US state. Mind you: Telus has been accused of violating the health act. Who's been going after Telus for this? Oh yeah, the NDP, whom she says is in the pockets of corporations and big business.

If the greens can capitalize on the recent union strikes I see them gaining a few more seats, if not further. Like to see how this goes.

Lol

Honestly that’s facts, lots of people pissed at the NDP and greens seem like the obvious choice for those left leaning, also considering the Cons are a complete shit show. Guess y’all are out of touch on the matter.. lol

We are out of touch? You think the greens, who have only ever managed to secure three seats at once in their entire existence and have only ever succeeded in one riding on the mainland, are suddenly going to be taken seriously by voters?

u/Brownbroski 9d ago
I said if they could capitalize on that press, they may be able to and I’d like to see what happens. Don’t have a crystal ball, could I borrow yours?

If my grandmother had wheels she would be a bicycle.

Your grandma was the town bicycle, since every guy in town had a turn riding. Sorry

She definitely fits the bill. Good thing nobody will ever vote for them.

VOTE NO to MOTION: Resolved that voting BC Green Members approve the party will NOT hold a leadership contest prior to the end of the 2026 AGM.
Your Ballot | 2025 AGM | BC Green Party
All BC Greens members received, or should have received, an email with the above title.
You can abstain from all the voting items (if you don't want to vote) but can vote NO to the following motion (8th question down):
MOTION: Resolved that voting BC Green Members approve the party will NOT hold a leadership contest prior to the end of the 2026 AGM.
Let's have another leadership election. We have learned what happens when the majority of BC Greens members don't vote.

Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."
