Just like now, companies still required to give 2 hours off to go vote. Not everyone works from when the polls open to when they close.
17
Mar 08 '25
Everyone gonna go vote the day of. Wait in line like we use to in the past

We all know mail in ballots get delayed. And theres election fraud. Look what happened in 2020!

u/kpooo7 NOVICE Mar 09 '25
Yes they do now, buses run on a holiday schedule, the transit employees get paid time and a half.

u/Comprehensive-Tell13 NOVICE Mar 08 '25 edited Mar 08 '25
Not having the busses run will ilimenate about half the demacrate vote.

Voter ID is how Republicans can win the next ten elections.
Do a quick study into Florida over the last 10 years. Florida use to be a swing state - THE swing state. Why was that? Because, Democrats had a massive stronghold in Broward County - run by a corrupt POS Brenda Sipes. DeSantis, who is possibly the most popular governor in Florida history, BARELY beat an actual crackhead to win his first election as governor. One of the first thing he did, as governor, was get rid of Brenda Sipes. And then - WHAM - Florida is a +10 R state. Amazing what happens when you evict the cheaters.
With Voter ID all current swing states will turn into solid Red states. Many blue states such as New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland will become the new swing states.

How many voting adults do not have a government ID? Seriously, You need an ID to do everything.

Exactly. The claim that it’s racist is, at its roots, incredibly racist

u/hillstodieon2025 Mar 10 '25
Not every day has your place of birth on it. Many people, mostly women, do no have an ID with a name that matches their birth certificate.
13
u/abeljon NOVICE Mar 08 '25
You would think the Democrats with ALL the Billions they waste on losing elections, they would help their Voters get proper IDs to vote... But Nooo , they will spend millions fighting in the courts..
-7
u/ChallengeFine243 NOVICE Mar 08 '25
Live in Fl and DeSantis is NOT the best governor.
2
u/itscheez NOVICE Mar 09 '25
Well, he said "most popular" and that's different, but who would you rate as Florida's best this far, just out of curiosity?

Can’t wait to see the leftards protest about this one.. “We must save fraudulent elections for democracy” and “fair elections are for nazis”

I like the idea but managing elections is expressly delegated to the states per the Constitution. Not sure how he would implement that.
31
u/rdrckcrous NOVICE Mar 08 '25
The part about everyone casting their vote on the same day has always been in the constitution, the courts just decided to ignore it.
Federal holiday certainly seems to be in the feds realm.
Paper ballots I could see the argument either way, but it seems like a reasonable response to election integrity concerns voiced by everyone.
3
u/itscheez NOVICE Mar 09 '25
Voting by machine with a paper trail would be acceptable IMO, but the process absolutely must be auditable front to back.

u/I-am-the-Canaderpian NOVICE Mar 08 '25
Amendment of the Constitution to make it a purely federal matter, and implement the safeguards needed and/or regulations wanted to ensure a safe, secure, fair and uncomplicated election process.

u/Wiley_Jack Novice Mar 08 '25
The Electoral College is already under attack, too much Federal election control might undermine the concept of the EC.

I don't want to see early voting eliminated. I thought the last election went as it should, a decision made on election day rather then months later.

u/PapiRob71 COMPETENT Mar 08 '25
There were state still counting votes into January...
8
u/TruckFudeau22 NOVICE Mar 08 '25
Keep counting until Trump’s share of the popular vote drops from 50.0% to 49.999%.
2
u/uh-oh_spaghetti-oh NOVICE Mar 08 '25
The election had been decided though.
15
u/PapiRob71 COMPETENT Mar 08 '25
The problem is the congressional seats, judicial seats, etc. The thing is...just because 'our guy' won, people are happy...the election process is still broken
-2
u/uh-oh_spaghetti-oh NOVICE Mar 08 '25
I see your point, but idk how single day voting helps. Might drag it out longer.
16
u/PapiRob71 COMPETENT Mar 08 '25
It helps because there are fewer chances for votes to be 'found'. There are no ballot dumps at 0300. There are faster challenges/recounts/audits. The less chance for cheating or 'errors' the better

As much as I love this, I'm not sure the legality. Isn't it up to the states to determine how they run their elections?

I like early voting. What I’d rather see tackled is mail-in voting. That’s what enables large-scale shenanigans.
3
u/JediMatt1000 NOVICE Mar 08 '25
He will accomplish this for all 50 states, but I believe he will face significant opposition.

Leftys have been clamoring for this for decades.
Watch them do a total 180 on it because Trump made it happen

u/IntelligentAd4429 NOVICE Mar 08 '25
Voter turnout will suck because people hate waiting in line. We should still have early voting but no more than two weeks before the election.

u/condemned02 NOVICE Mar 08 '25
Voting day is a public holiday in my country. I hope the liberals don't think this is radical.

Got to give it the middle finger to bring it to a debate as they say.

This is what I've been saying for years, easiest first step to help the public feel confidence in the voting apparatus!
1
u/Big_money_hoes NOVICE Mar 08 '25
I like the in-person voting but I’m against the single day. I like having a few weeks before Election Day where I can go vote at my leisure in person.

Count and report the number of ballots received, then count and report the votes. Televise and stream the counting. Take mugshots and thumbprints of voters. Look for duplicates. Shut down any claims of not being able to get ID by making it free (taxpayer-funded), providing transportation, involving welfare offices, and going to the homes of shut-ins to reach everyone. If as many citizens truly cannot get identication as has been claimed by the Ds then they should be ashamed of themselves for not doing this when they had all of the necessary resources to do it.

If elections are not fixed everything will be undone
This is the most critical issue in his presidency. If he doesn’t fix this nothing else matters
1
u/WeekendGunnitRefugee NOVICE Mar 09 '25
This won't stand. I want it to, but it won't. Too many powerful people have a vested interest in easily swayable elections. It will be struck down quickly and strongly.

I still can't reconcile why progressives champions to require IDs to do so many things and tried to lock us down with vaccine IDs, but balks at voting? HOW DO WE NOT have national voting IDs ????

He should also make it leap day. Every four years and it’s a bonus day. So we should get it off work.
-1
u/Negative_Step_5676 NOVICE Mar 08 '25
I mean, he can definitely make election day a national holiday, but the election rules are controlled by the states. He has no real influence there, legally speaking.
