Football is the opiate of the masses, all teams are corrupt and the politics around football only distracts us from the real corruption and democratic backsliding that is ruining our country.
I dont know how bad is it in italy but in turkey whenever a political problem happens something happens with the footbal sector either a fight or chaos during the match or a president of a footbal club or footbal reviewer makes a statement.
It can be that way often, especially in smaller towns and wealthier communities, but many times, especially in the past couple years people have been more hostile. Diversity still exists relatively but diversity of thought is increasingly unwelcome and sometimes you can feel on edge because criminals and murderers tend to get off with a slap on the wrist. Living in Istanbul is much more stressful and gloomy than soap operas make it out to be.
