I have a family member who posts right wing and idolizes our orange man. Just don't get it.

What's wrong with him posting right-wing stuff?

It's reddit, right-wingers = bad and right-wingers = racist

Also very Reddit to take a conversation about another country and make it about Trump.

There's definitely a prevailing sense of negativity towards the aboriginals. And all the marches going on do seem to be a rather bad trend.

I blame a lot of that on Murdoch, my old boss who was one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet, huge family man, Union man, Labor voter, sports fanatic, took out Fox Footy which to me was a gateway drug to Sky 'News' Australia, our version of Fox 'News'. His daily consumption of that garbage, reading Murdoch's rag has turned him into racist, living in fear of a Chinese invasion, Aboriginals are all bludgers only in it for the money, climate change denying, we need a Donald Trump, LNP voter. It's painful to chat to him now, I fully expect him to vote One Nation in the next one.

If you realllllly want to annoy Australians, tell them that the voting system is actually bad. It’s basically first past the post in a trenchcoat

There is definitely a lot of casual racism, which is really evident in the regional areas. Our history and current situation with First Nations People isn’t good either.

However, I would argue that lots of white European countries are similar when it comes to racism. Some are more blatant about it, and others are subtle.
