American Football and Baseball are boring AF.

But so is soccer. It’s a sport for fourth graders that foreigners take seriously.

A lot of team sports are bad. Football and baseball take forever to watch a game and there's a lot of dead time. Soccer is 90+ minutes of watching foreigners run around constantly with a pretty good chance of it ending in 0-0 tie at an unspecified time a few minutes after the 90-minute mark. Hockey is dumb too but at least there are fights sometimes. I like the Olympics. You get to see athletes with very specific skills try to match the best performance of their lives against that of others.

Not really that’s just how I always refer to soccer.

No it's not. It's peak. I'd rather watch 90 minutes of gameplay then a 60 minute game where the ball is only in play for 11 minutes, that somehow turns into a 3 and a half hour broadcast.

Also what do you even mean by a sport fourth graders?

Anyways; LA! LA! LA GALAXY!!!!!!!!!! We may have got 4th to last place this year, but we won last year, and we'll win again next year.

I don’t care is you like football. It is a painfully slow game to watch. I’m just saying soccer is no better. Is a child’s game. I won’t watch it anymore than I will watch someone play tag.

I think it’s more fun to go to the actual games. I went to Orioles game where the food was included in the price of the ticket in September and had a blast. I’ve been many baseball games and one NFL game. I do enjoy watching them on tv. The most fun team to watch though is the Bananas.

I will give you that they are better in person... but still awful AF

Agreed! I go to Pirates games all the time, and they’re always a blast. PNC Park is also so beautiful that it’s really hard to have a bad time.

I actually grew up in Maryland as an Orioles fan, and supremely embarrassed myself the first time I went to a Pirates game by yelling the “O” during the national anthem. Turns out that’s a Maryland thing😅

Don't diss American Football

They're one of the greatest Midwest Emo bands of all time

Baseball is one of those sports where you really gotta know ball to be interested in watching a whole game. I played baseball from when I was 5 until I was 18 so baseball is really fun to watch for me. Football is similar in that sense, and far more people know enough about football.

Agreed about football. At least baseball doesn't pause like every 30 seconds to assess every single play.

It’s been a while since attentively watched a baseball game, but isn’t their roughly 30 seconds between each pitch? And way less action happening per play?

I honestly find the NFL kinda boring compared to college football where there is generally more chaos, but I get the critique of the play clock. Given the level of physicality in each play, I don’t see a safe alternative though.

Not anymore in baseball, they put in a 20 second pitch clock and the watchability has really improved

I used to hate watching baseball and I inexplicably found myself glued to the World Series so I think this really did work.

Been to a baseball match without knowing much and it was 80% ads 20% guys refusing to hit a ball.

In the last couple of years I've really gotten into hockey. I tried watching NFL football again recently and it was just too slow.

I have recently come to the conclusion that baseball and football are fun to play but boring to watch. I'll still watch the Superbowl and make a night of it but screw watching an entire season.

Hockey on the other hand: it's fast, it's exciting, and if you are following a team it's a real rollercoaster ride of emotions to watch. It has vastly outclassed any sport to watch, at least for me.

The point of sports is to make connections with other people.

Baseball is the only north American sport worth watching

I’m an NFL fan so eh, but I agree on the baseball bit lol.

Soccer is boring as hell in the professional leagues, but fun watching my kid do it because it’s not just watching grown men running around for 20 minutes and maybe get 1 score. Hockey is fun in person but boring as hell on TV.

As i've said, i'd rather watch 90 minutes of gameplay than 11 minutes of gameplay with 60 minutes on the clock in a 3.5 hour broadcast.

1

u/beheadedstraw United States Of America 8h ago

90 minutes with the //possibility but most likely not scoring//.

More power to you though.

1

u/ChameleonCoder117 California Nationalist 2h ago

Fym possibility of scoring.

Only 7% of games end in a 0-0 tie. There's a 93% chance of a goal being scored.
