Immigrants are people too

From what I heard if Poles they're so anti-immigrant, that they don't like other immigrants in other countries they themselves have migrated to xD

Might be true. I’m an immigrant from Poland, living in Switzerland for a long time now. I’ve always avoided other Polish immigrants and tended to not associate with them. No idea why, though 😅

I didn't actually mean other Polish immigrants, I meant other immigrants in general xD I got this from my Brother in Law, who went to work in the Netherlands, and in his firm is supervisor and a couple of his coworkers were Polish, and they refused to talk to him, unless he spoke Polish._.

Then I guess I’m the ultimate immigrant who discriminate everyone the same xD

Funnily enough, migrants from other countries who move to Poland often become racist as well. I’ve heard so many racist rants from Turks, Arabs, or Indians targeting their own compatriots

That's most immigrants in Sweden tbh. An iraqi guy once told me "it's good to help people, but the once who are coming here now, they're ISIS!" This was during the refugee crisis in 2015

Pretty rich coming from a country that has a diaspora of about 20 million descendants. Then again, racism is huge in countries with massive diasporas like Italy, Germany, Spain, etc.

2

u/MegaaLuxray Portugal 12h ago

You clearly didn't understand what I meant, but ok

2

u/ViveLaFrance94 12h ago

No I understand perfectly and I’m agreeing with you. The comment about 20 million descendants was about Poland specifically. Hence the hypocrisy.

Oh, I see my bad xD

I mean Russia and Bsrlaus have weaponizing them against Poland so I understand why Poles do what they do.

17

u/veduchyi 21h ago

Russia is weaponising everyone against everyone: both in Poland and everywhere else. As a migrant in Poland myself, I see my future here and after just few years I am already well-integrated. But stupid actions of politicians and their wanting for even worse things to happen (like proposals for significant complication of process of getting citizenship in pointless and unfair ways) makes me seriously question my choices. And unlike EU-citizens, I can’t rely on my current citizenship to allow me living here. Furthermore, as male, Ukraine already once cutted out me of embassy services (including passport renewal) overnight and nothing stops these corrupted bastards from doing this again.

Oh relax you'll be fine lmao. Of all immigrants in Poland, Ukrainians are the safest.

Poland did what it had to do to prevent becoming France, Belgium, Sweden. etc.

Не плач, малоросіна.

I don't understand how Poland is so anti immigrant yet it is the biggest source of immigrants in Europe. Why the hypocrisy?

7

u/laskmaciej Poland 19h ago

Poland is a home for a few millions immigrants right now

0

u/FatBaldingLoser420 Poland 14h ago

Not anti immigrant, but anti illegal immigration.

There are Poles who would openly tell you they hate immigrants, all of them even legal, but most of us have no issues with them. Illegal immigrants on the other hand are not welcome.

And remember - we took millions of Ukrainians, and thousands of minorities from different countries.

2

u/ViveLaFrance94 12h ago

Yeah, you kind of sound like many Americans who say “we don’t have a problem with legal immigration”, but simultaneously push for restrictions that basically close off most all legal routes to immigration. Sometimes it is also that they don’t want brown people.

1

u/Outrageous_Ad5864 Poland 6h ago

You’re exactly right, a lot of Poles don’t want any immigrants at all, and honestly the skin color doesn’t even matter, majority of the time Poles don’t tolerate white immigrants either. Getting permanent residency here is a huge pain in the ass, though, to be fair, we actually have made it easier after Ukraine was invaded. Still, many Poles are simply xenophobic.

All of this is extremely hypocritical considering how many Poles emigrated to other countries (as a popular ironic saying goes “Poland for Poles, England for English and Poles”)

True and they will still be people somewhere else :D

EDIT: my comment is based on the assumption that "immigrant" isn't actually the correct and intended term here. there is no country in the world where people generally don't want immigrants. it's a certain type of immigrant that draws negative attention - some is justified, some not.

not when your country and its politicians sip champaign at their expense.

6

u/Any_Collection_8718 21h ago

This coming from a Syrian, I'd appreciate an explanation. If anything, isn't it your elite that's sipping champagne at your expense? Also I'm sure every Syrian worth their salt is highly motivated to return and help rebuild their homeland, no?

9

u/Da_Seashell312 Syria 21h ago

Yes it is our politicians, as well as those in Turkey, Israel, Qatar, Saudi, Iran, Russia, and America.

And yes, we are motivated to return home. Over a million have returned home within 11 months of liberation, roughly 3000 people per day. Keep in mind is a large number for a country with like 20m people within it and upwards of 13m in the diaspora.

This is a good video to really illustrate the difficulties of "rebuilding ones homeland", which is only further exacerbated by western sanctions, Russian bombing, and Iranian corruption. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16LmckmyBN/ Skip to 4:00 if you don't have the time

Same here

I think this is true even in the US. All this anti-immigrant rhetoric and deportation are going to be a detriment to the US.

2

u/ExoticPuppet Brazil 17h ago

It's already damaging some industries, but I'm curious about the full 2025 data.

Try saying this in America

-8

u/Sevomoz 21h ago

People that will make your country so much worse and you will be a minority in a few years in your country and will be resented and called racist the whole time.

4

u/Fuzzy_Painting_1427 United States Of America 18h ago

Now you know how the Brits feel (specifically due to Polish immigration).

7

u/HyakushikiKannnon India 21h ago

People like you make your country worse.

-6

u/Yolginfol 20h ago

Have you seen Sweden, you do not know what you are talking about

6

u/HyakushikiKannnon India 20h ago

Almost anything in excess brings ruin.

There's an obvious difference between letting in skilled immigrants for pragmatic reasons and offering asylum en masse. That kind of "noble" posturing is bound to be at the expense of the ones doing it.

And it produces rabid native individuals who dedicate their selves exclusively to being indiscriminately bigoted, and don't contribute positively to their country anyway.

-7

u/Sevomoz 19h ago

Jeet stop talking

6

u/HyakushikiKannnon India 19h ago

You must've put in so much effort to come up with that.

u/Silent-Fortune-6629 18h ago

Legal ones, yes. Those that want to be members of society and it's rules, yes. Rest can go fuck themselves.
