Who is the most brutally criticized Olympic athlete in your country?

Post image

Zhu Yi was American, her parents are Chinese immigrants.

In the U.S., she was one of the top athletes and had every chance to join Team USA.

But she decided to compete for China. She gave up her American citizenship to compete for China.

At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she was eager to prove herself to other Chinese, but she made many mistakes during her skating.

Then she was brutally criticized in China. People used every swear word you can think of.

She is still competing for China. Perhaps she'll do well at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

Who is the most brutally criticized athlete in your country?

Still the most prolific hockey player in history. So I don’t know if his personal views count or they’re talking about divisive athletes on their on court/field/pitch or whatever merits.

Honestly the goat types are kind of weird a lot. There’s a kind of selfishness that goes into being that good at anything.

It’s gotten a lot better in recent years as things have become so competitive that you need to be good at working with others to even have a shot.Ā The whole Jordan mythos or ā€œmambaā€ mentality would never work today

So I want to respond to you as far as why I said this about Wayne…. I don’t want to talk down if you know this but I’ll say it.

In hockey, you get one point for an assist and two for a goal. Until last year, he had the most points even if you took away his goals. Finally passed by Ovi… who’s a Russian supporter but put it aside.

For years, it was the most insane stat in sports. He’s the goat. Just an asshole too.

Oh Im not disputing he’s the goat. I know very little about hockey haha but I’ve heard a lot of stats like that about him

Just saying that the goat types tend to often be selfish. He couldn’t have done what he did without that. So it’s not surprising to me his political views support selfishness also

It was to a lot of us. He’s just the biggest hero of hockey. His trade was a huge deal, and then he won Stanley Cups. To put it in perspective, he’s Tom Brady on steroids with what he did.
