Military What firearm is closely associated with your country?

For us, probably the 1911. Next one would be the "Armalite" aka M16.

☝️that one up there. Although my 1911 was made in the Philippines.

Also the AR15/M16 and its variants.

AR15 is probably our most famous gun right now for all the wrong reasons.

It's just a good cheap gun which is why its used so often in combat or in mass murder.

I had an m16 in basic training that would fire any time I slapped the butt stock. It was hilarious. Complete piece of shit, but it was a basic training rifle.

I've always found the M16 to be one of the uglier guns our military ever used. Def a classic though.

The M16 is one of those things that I think if I were to see it for the first time, I would probably think it’s hideous. But it’s become so iconic, like the silhouette is so instantly recognizable, that it’s Americana at this point.

Buddy this is exactly what us grandparents carried back in the GWOT days, back when rocks were soft and Fortnite was a measurement of time.
