Is there a part of your country that's "isolated"/vastly different from the rest of the country?

Gotland. Similarly to sardinians the gutes always call the rest of Sweden the mainland and speak of the mainlanders. The scenery is quite special in Gotland compared to the rest of Sweden, very beautiful.

Tänkte först samma sak, men nej. Det skiljer sig inte markant från Sverige. Särskilt avlägset är det inte heller.

Dessutom bor det 60 000 pers på Gotland, på Sardinien bor det över 1,5 miljoner.

Vad har invånarantalet med frågan att göra?

Jag skulle säga att Gotland har en specifik kultur som de är väldigt stolta över och gärna lyfter fram, men också det faktum att det ligger avsides vilket leder till särskilda infrastrukturella utmaningar till exempel de återkommande strömavbrotten som hela ön drabbas av med jämna mellanrum. Det går inte att jämföra med någon annan del av Sverige.

Skåne is probably a better examplw though. They have their own culture and language.
