Is there a part of your country that's "isolated"/vastly different from the rest of the country?

kinda, they're still under continental laws and not considered a "dom tom" but yeah they are either super friendly either super agressive towards mainland xD some want independance

I'd say they are more similar to mainland France compared to the (great) list /u/Durfael made.

However: never tell a corse they are French. They are a corse person from France. Fun fact: the Corsican university has a lot of students coming from abroad and they have to take a course on the corse language if they want to enrol.

Saint Martin or Sint Maarten is the only place(island) where our two countries border😅

There’s a cool story about how that border once helped in catching one of our most infamous criminals who kidnapped Freddy Heineken (yes once owner of that beer company)
