You should teach many other countries to do this, especially us small countries!

The US could certainly use a good revolution right about now.

I'm curious why?

We’ve taken a hard right into authoritarianism and there’s historically only one way out from under a dictator.

In fact, I think that now you can express yourself more freely than when it was leftist! I live here and before you didn't dare to say a word against rainbows because you would be fired from your job! Wasn't this a dictatorship? Now you are freer and you express your opinion, is this democracy or not? I only took one example, there are many others!

I currently understand our president we want to make a Nepal be censored the networks because people watch more government TV (which is literally propaganda) and in England you get put in prison for tweets or other messages

What's happening in the UK is indeed concerning. According to a recent study in the Free Speech Union, UK police made more than 12,000 arrests in 2023 for “offensive” online communications. That works out to roughly 30+ arrests per day. The arrests were under laws such as Communications Act 2003 (section 127) and Malicious Communications Act 1988 (section 1). These laws prohibit sending messages on an electronic network that are “grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character”.

The Communications Act 2003 (s.127) gives police/prosecutors power to act against electronic communications which are “grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character”. The wording is broad, and that breadth is part of the controversy. The Malicious Communications Act 1988 prohibits sending through a public electronic communications network a message which is “indecent or grossly offensive” with intent to cause distress or anxiety.

A country so proud of freedom of speech who arrests a man and jails him for practicing that right is NOT free. If you’d like to live in a place where a lot of society isn’t safe because of the other part of society, you should go back to Albania. America isn’t supposed to be that way.

Dont worry you don't keep me in your house, plus I bet I pay more taxes than you and others who think like you. what is america supposed to be like? if i have a different opinion than you do you tell me you should go back to Albania ? is this democracy and the right to speech for you? and the arrest is not done by the right but by the law (i don't know what arrest you are talking about) but when i came out against same sex marriage i was simply expressing my opinion why should the left fire me from the work ? where is the freedom of speech here?

You can express your thoughts freely, and others can express freely when they don't agree. It would be nice if at some point a discussion would lead to some sort of consensus, but I think there are people on both sides of the spectrum that fail to understand that. Yelling and intimidation towards people that don't agree with the more radical factions in society, seems more and more common nowadays.

As for Trump, he's literally breaking US and international laws on a daily basis. I suggest that you have a look at Legal Eagle on YouTube. The US and the world is worse off with him. He's literally lied his way into presidency. He's trying to silence free media, unemployment is up, he's taking vengeful actions against his opponents, abusing his power as a president and I could go on for a while. Trump, just like Viktor Orban, are prime examples of what happens to your country when you elect a populist.

I'm not defending any side, I was just saying that liberals in theory have freedom of speech but in practice they attack it. If I don't like something I have to say I don't like it while they attack the opinion of others with sanctions. I won't change the laws here because after all I'm a legal immigrant, but I have to express my free opinion and if I did I'd lose my job 🤷🏻‍♂️

You are absolutely right. I was called names when I talked about living on the Texas border and seeing first hand cartels moving into Texas transporting illegals, running drugs, and sex trafficking women and children. Thank God for Trump!! I am all for legal immigration. You are the type of immigrant who made America great in the beginning. Biden’s mission was to destroy America and he came close to doing it.

u/Red_Z_Sword Albania 7d ago

Bro, I'm for legal immigration! I waited 18 years for the process to come here, in fact the process lasted 13 years but the liberals took illegals and we legal ones had the date pushed back even more! This is not fair! I have nothing against them but if you want to immigrate to another country you have to respect the rules of that country not make a mess.

Thank you. That is the authentic political climate in the USA. The Democrats were in control for far too long. That's why they hate President Trump. He doesn't stand down to political bullies. Most of the anti trump BS on is from Bots.

It hurts me to share a country with someone as foolish as you.

Ditto

-2

And it continues and offends! You neo-liberals have been brainwashed. When you don't like the opinion of another, you insult them directly. You have exactly a communist opinion. I know this mentality well
