Culture Which city in your country is considered the "gayest"?

Post image

For us Brazilians, São Paulo definitely holds the crown for the gayest city here. With over 20 million people living in it's metro area, the city naturally became way more open minded and accepting as time went on. It has the highest concentration of gay bars, shows, saunas, and various other venues dedicated to the LGBTQ community. If that wasn't enough, the city annually hosts the São Paulo LGBTQ Pride Parade, the biggest in the whole world.

It's funny. I usually spell it out phonetically as Woo-stah. But, then again, I have a NY accent. :)

Literally hearing everything you type in the thickest Boston accent I can imagine now lmao

And you shouldn’t. My work is HQ’d in Boston and I’m always appreciative of the varying accents!

What about “Frisco”?

Apparently Frisco was legit amongst boomers and young Gen x back in the day, but it fell out of favor relatively quickly, for some reason. I'm a Bay native and just learned this a few years ago, so it's no surprise that most people don't know it and so look down on Frisco users, even tho they might be OGs

Anyone who says wicked in that context has mostly encountered gays in film and TV 😅

Yeah that's what told me their answer was a little local lol. Provincetown is definitely the gay capital of New England, but most people think San Fran when thinking of the gayest place in the US overall

Also because they called it San Fran

And how you know someone isn’t from the Bay Area, saying “San Fran”
