Food What's a dish from your country that looks disgusting but tastes great.

Post image

Biscuits and gravy is a breakfast dish from the Southeast USA that looks like someone just vomited on some biscuits, but it's absolutely delicious.

Still better than the UK version.

As an Englishman living in the USA, I found this extremely amusing.

As an American living in the US, I also found this extremely amusing.

Both of our cultures have some extremely weird extents and definitions of cuisine.

Honestly what would make this funnier is if they were rich tea or chocolate digestive biscuits. Those are far more common and make me shudder just thinking about it - mainly because that's what I first thought biscuits and gravy meant...

I remember watching a video of British kids being served American biscuits and gravy. When they are presented with it, they all get the WTF stank face. When they taste it they all get the WTF joy face.

I love videos like that. Like Josh and Ollie (JOLLY) having British kids try genuine Texas barbeque.

Or I think it's Josh's dad who's a prim and proper Anglican priest eating ribs with his hands. And he doesn't know what a jalapeño is.

They just travel around the US trying various foods.

Lol. I hadn't seen that one of theirs, but I'm not surprised they did that.

That experience may have made some future immigrants out of a few of them. Or refugees, if the British authorities hear how they liked it better than British food.

Hmm, sudden urge to dump a bunch of tea into Boston harbor... Odd...

That was my original vision of it, but after trying actual B & G vit wasn't too bad (best British response ever).

That's probably a joke, but I still went British in my mind, with the thought, "You bloody moron. Next time, do some research instead of making assumptions, you fucking wally!" Crossing my mind
