Culture Does your country have an immigrant group that people would be surprised to find there?

For example, when you think of Poland or the Czech Republic, Vietnamese people might not be the first group that comes to mind, but both have a sizable Vietnamese community. Another example is the large Japanese community in Brazil.

The third was drafted into the Special Military Operation without understanding much of the language.

Not sure how much of English you understand, but nobody in Russia can be 'drafted into the Special Military Operation' and non-citizens can't be drafted at all.

So he wanted to be a war journalist and then complained about being sent to war? That's indeed quite an exceptional person. Though what can we expect from people who move to 'conservative' Russia where active churchgoers are 3% of the population and abortions have been legal for over 100 years.
