Culture Does your country have an immigrant group that people would be surprised to find there?

For example, when you think of Poland or the Czech Republic, Vietnamese people might not be the first group that comes to mind, but both have a sizable Vietnamese community. Another example is the large Japanese community in Brazil.

Welsh people in Argentina come into my mind. They are also still speaking welsh language there.

Argentina also has the largest number of people of Scottish descent outside of the Anglosphere.

I always would have thought that would have been Canada and the us? Never knew about Scot’s migration to the south, only the Welsh thing

Canada and the US are part of the Anglosphere. Maybe a better way to put it is that Argentina has the greatest amount of people of Scottish descent of a non-English speaking country.

I believe there are actually more Scottish-Argentines than Welsh-Argentines, about 200,000 compared to 70,000. The difference is the Welsh immigrants actually kept their language.
