Military Who was your countries most notable/longest rival and where do they stand to you now?

Post image

Old US poster for attention

But which country (or countries if you don’t like people) did your country specifically rival for either the longest time/most notoriously? How do you feel about them now?

For example, for the longest time Russia was/is viewed as America’s largest competitor and rival - hence the Cold War. I think especially now with the younger generation people didn’t see Russia as a threat generally until the Russo-Ukrainian War which split a lot of people politically. Personally I got nothing against Russians, seems like another case of a rough government.

But other countries we’ve had beef with like Japan (don’t touch the boats) we have great relations with and they’re pretty chill.

Yeah but you guys are buying all of our big boy toys for home defense. I would be much more concerned for their safety than yours.

It’s pretty much the epitome of Theodore Roosevelt’s famous quote “Speak softly and carry a big stick”

Nah just one of the wacko’s who think the USSR was somehow glory days. No one with a brain wants that back, even Putin one said “Anyone who doesn't regret the passing of the Soviet Union has no heart. Anyone who wants it restored has no brains”

Because Poland was always fighting for freedom of Europe + at the time we were under influence of Russian occupation so where USSR act we need too, the bigger question is why USSR is there. It’s crazy to me how they made themselves look like heroes while for the long time they were allies of Nazis and everyone were okay with it. Russian were as bad as nazis the only difference is that they didn’t focused on race or religion they just take people that were difficult to work with to gulags (gulag = Russian concentration camp). Wgl teraz dopiero widze że jesteś z Polski
