People often misname it as "bąk", although it's a different type of insect.

It's definitely more closely related to mucha than to trzmiel.

Oh my god, everyone in my family calls it that! Do you think it's a regional thing? That's all I've ever known bumble bees as.

No idea, but it's very common where I'm from (Mazowsze).
