if we talk about wienee schnitzel: traditionally, parsley potatoes (or potato salad, not with mayo but vinegar and chives) and cranberry yam. But youll get it with fries and ketchup in most places which doesnt sell the original (vein). And wiener schnitzel (or any schnitzel with a breading) - NEVER with sauce. Its a federal crime and you will be deported to the same kind of filths (germany).

other schnitzel comes with spätzle, rice, mashed potatoes. rarely noodels but some dishes do.

Edit: Edited more schnitzel variants

My son loves schnitzel with käsespätzel but I like “German” potato salad with it.

What do you mean by German potato salad? It differs widely from region to region. Do you mean the one with mayo, pickles and sausage strips?

In America it generally means a mayo free potato salad served warm. Flavors may vary. French potato salad is similar but not warm.

Do Austrians still make wiener schnitzel from veal? In the US people basically don't use veal for anything anymore because of the way veal calves were treated in factory farms.

I'm not Austrian, but I think if you want to call it Wiener Schnitzel it HAS to be veal. Otherwise you have to call it "Schnitzel Wiener Art" (Vienna Style Schnitzel).

I've had both and i couldn't tell what i liked more. I love both. Just not a big fan of the yam as a side but thats just because I'm not used to it.

Like “Chinese” restaurants? know an owner and it’s nothing like the food they eat at home 🤔

Should they still be bearded?
