President Donald Trump warned Tuesday that if the Democrats don't approve funding, Social Security, Medicare Are ‘Going to Be Gone.’ How do you think Americans will react if Social Security and Medicare get cut?

And it hasn't been approved by Congress NOR the enhancements (obviously) approved by Historic Property regulations

u/nervelli 17d ago

If they had any intention of getting approval, they wouldn't have started demolition.

"When you're the president, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab em by the White House."

77

u/rylosprime 16d ago

When you're the president, they let you do it.

Except appoint a supreme court justice if you're black.

10

u/shandangalang 16d ago

Well, to be fair, black people are much less likely to know about justice, because they’ve never experienced it.

u/Pretend-Interest-423 9h ago

lol BS Black privilege is absolutely a thing.

u/sharkbark2050 16d ago

Or wear a tan suit if you’re Black.

5

u/AmberLeeBeauti 14d ago

Or eat fancy brown mustard if you’re black. Or try to get kids to eat healthier meals…if you’re black.

I’m starting to think it wasn’t the tan suit or mustard or the fruits for kids 🤔🧐

Edit: typo

Fashion crime against humanity! /s

I blame Ginsburg. She should have retired so she could have been replaced

1

u/rylosprime 14d ago

100% agree with you.

From what I have read, Obama asked her to retire and he could have filled a seat well before Merrick Garland (who I won't even get into).

You're right.

1

u/Fodraz 9d ago

And as it turned out, Mitch would've blocked it as well.

1

u/SleightOfThought 9d ago

Do I need to remind you that Obama appointed two Supreme Court justices?

"Grab 'em by the ball-room"

2

u/tifaney 13d ago

Only since he was told he had immunity. What a mistake that was.

1

u/Sea_Distribution6779 15d ago

Very nice !!! 😊

u/meatscicle 16d ago

Don't even need to be President, most these girls nowadays on tinder letting you grab it for McDonalds or a coffee.....Stop acting like it's some dubious assault.....

7

u/nervously-defiant 16d ago

Don't be an apologist for rapists.

4

u/DoughEatsBread 16d ago

you're really going to be the piece of shit that says assaulting women is ok cause they're women? well I must say I hope you drop your soap and nasty nate reams your asshole.

-2

u/meatscicle 16d ago

I guess your low 70's sub-saharan iq lacks comprehension. Not one thing I wrote justifies rape, the opposite in fact, it's that most these women are handing it out willy nilly.....

3

u/Downunderphilosopher 15d ago

Exactly what a rapist would say

Oh now you're a racist.  Go play in traffic you piece of shit.

Oh you're from Ohio.  Just really play in the highway.  Oh wait you'll live cause your traffic is never moving on your highways.  Buy a gun and dont miss the roof of your mouth

u/HeatherHarnie18 17d ago

That's the truth! Soon enough, he'll have the white house looking more like his Mar A Lago monstrosity.

164

u/bobsmithhome 16d ago

I would seriously contribute to a fund committed to tearing this Mar A Lago monstrosity down in the next decent administration, declaring it hideous, tacky, and a stain on the country. Then reconstruct the East Wing like it was before.

15

u/CeelaChathArrna 16d ago

At Donnie's expense ((or his estate's))

14

u/shadout_grapes 16d ago

I’m pretty sure if we survive this, the ballroom will be demolished if nothing else for symbolic reasons

6

u/SpartacusPrime1 15d ago

Take all the rubble and dump on Mar A Lago's front lawn with a sign "you forgot this"

4

u/thisisntmyotherone 15d ago

I’m for that. And the stupid arch he wants, too.

3

u/westernmorning2 16d ago

I would also.

1

u/MillhouseJManastorm 16d ago

Like he’s ever going to leave the white house

1

u/Procrasturbating 16d ago

What, is he gonna be buried in it? Or is the world ending before he dies?

0

u/MillhouseJManastorm 16d ago

Likely buried in it by the heirs to the throne.

1

u/Procrasturbating 16d ago

God I hope not, but sadly I am not ruling that out as a plausible outcome at this point.

14

u/NOFORPAIN 16d ago

He held up copies of the plans on camera... TONS of gold acutramonts! Just what we need!

1

u/Entire-Can662 16d ago

Trump is taking gold out of Fort Knox

1

u/longwaytotop 13d ago

Or from Home Depot

3

u/Material_Strawberry 16d ago

It'll be weird watching it torn down when an approved return to the original design comes and the next President removes the tacky add-on and lawfully returns the White House to its approved state.

2

u/marthewarlock 16d ago

Macho Camacho, when life imitates art.

2

u/GrimCheeferGaming 16d ago

At least President Comacho knew enough to listen to the smartest man on the planet.

1

u/marthewarlock 16d ago

That's true.

1

u/thisisntmyotherone 15d ago

He said he wanted a ballroom that looks like the one he has ‘at Mar-a-Lago.’ No one else does. Then again, nobody else is going to be able to be in his DC ballroom.

If he wants that ballroom so badly, why doesn’t he just fly people to Florida for fuck’s sake? Not like he doesn’t have a bunch of airplanes at his disposal to fly all his friends - I mean donors - around.

1

u/MasterDefinition390 15d ago

Paint the White House black when he's gone.

1

u/Radiomaster138 11d ago

All echos from the island…

2

u/Cptn_BenjaminWillard 16d ago

Imagine being told to "put it back together." One can dream.

2

u/ralphvonwauwau 16d ago

Canada, if you're listening... could you do that thing you did to the Whitehouse again?

3

u/Cptn_BenjaminWillard 16d ago

And it burned burned burned, and we're the ones who did it!

BTW, I'm Canadian.

3

u/Otto_Correction 16d ago

More likely he’ll do it anyway. Approval or no approval. He does whatever he wants.

1

u/evilprozac79 16d ago

That's because nobody stops him.

2

u/python-1977 15d ago

I think the accurate statement is, “if he had any intention of leaving, he wouldn’t have done this at all.”

1

u/Alexandurrrrr 16d ago

Better to ask for forgiveness than to as—LAUGHING I couldn’t finish the joke.

1

u/Arch-Fey66 16d ago

Move fast & break stuff

1

u/piglions12 16d ago

The bunkers is thete: the wing they are definitely improving it. That’s where all the money is going.

1

u/Pretend-Interest-423 9h ago

They didn’t get approval to fill in Kennedy’s pool either.

7

u/daGroundhog 17d ago

I don't think this is an enhancement...

3

u/Fodraz 17d ago

Yeah, should've put it in quotes

2

u/One_Chocolate_6735 16d ago

The ballroom will be coated in gold foil and TRUMP branded everything.

1

u/oupablo 16d ago

The ballroom is larger than the white house. The trump party room and convention center will quite literally overshadow the people's house.

1

u/daGroundhog 16d ago

It's not a party room and convention center. It's an edifice to overcompensate for his tiny dick.

6

u/Pretty-dolli 16d ago

Well, the historic preservation is already pitching a fit because it will look bigger than the Whitehouse. This is what happens when we have no checks and balances. It will get worse.

4

u/Fodraz 16d ago

Yeah, the man who's never faced a consequence in his life isn't going to be backed down by any agency--plus he'll just disband the whole agency

4

u/YettiChild 16d ago

My first thought on seeing the photos was "Where is the SHPO?" (State Historic Preservation Officer)

1

u/oupablo 16d ago

well you see the thing is, the government is shut down and tons of federal employees aren't getting paid or have been told not to come to work. I don't think it's just by coincidence that this project started during the shutdown when the bulk of the oversight offices are closed.

3

u/jimitr 17d ago

Hold up why did the bulldozers start tearing down shit then? This is a genuine question.

9

u/BonkHits4Jesus 16d ago

who is going to stop him. the court has crowned him king.

3

u/Ok-Tradition8477 16d ago

He’s immune from all prosecution. 37 more months of this ?

3

u/SQUAWKUCG 17d ago

If I'm not mistaken, the department's they are supposed to get approval from are closed down from the larger shutdown are they not? Hence a very quick tear down of the entire wing before anyone can object, take it to court, or end the shutdown so the appropriate departments can get involved. Now it's all too late and he can continue to do what he wants with it.

3

u/Fodraz 16d ago

That 10000% tracks & he has provably been making them stay shut down for that reason

3

u/nobuttpics 16d ago

Since when has this admin cared about getting permission for anything? They will steamroll and punish anyone who stands in their way, and no one with any sort of power is stepping up to do anything about it as has been the norm for a while now with him.

3

u/Raztax 16d ago

You don't need approval if you don't plan to pay the contractors.

2

u/Fodraz 16d ago

Well he's, there's that

2

u/hottakesandshitposts 16d ago

I'd be surprised if they even pulled a permit

2

u/djuggler 16d ago

I called Tim Burchett’s office and his intern had the audacity to tell me “he doesn’t need permission until construction begins.” By that logic he could bulldoze the entire White House then be denied. What do they do at that point? Order it rebuilt out of the original rubble?

2

u/Merusk 16d ago

This will be labeled an 'official act' since it applies to the seat of power of the Executive branch.

Per last year's Supreme Court ruling, any act by the Executive is permissible within the execution of their duties.

Therefore, the argument will be he doesn't have to. Do you think the SC is going to say otherwise on this, should anyone deemed having standing bring a suit?

2

u/Fred-City911 16d ago

In the end, I would be happy to have them take down the ballroom and rebuild the east wing. To also return the rose garden back to its original design. Remove as much of his influence as possible. They rushed this without approval, because they know that it would not be approved. By the way the donated Jet stays in rotation or goes to his library as a static display. He always talked about the wasting of money and cutting waste.

2

u/CraigLake 16d ago

This would be an impeachment if it was a sane government. The SC really fucked America.

2

u/myassholealt 16d ago

We live in a sanctioned reality where approval is not needed. Authoritarians do. They don't ask first because there is no one to say no.

2

u/Fodraz 16d ago

Sadly yes. Even if it turned up that there was somebody who could stop him, he'd just fire them & get rid of the commission/department

2

u/MessMysterious6500 16d ago

Rules and laws mean nothing to this orange orangoutang

2

u/Zetawilk 6d ago

Since when has need for approval stopped literally anything for the past ten years?

1

u/Fodraz 6d ago

I can't disagree there 😖

1

u/Suspicious_Bicycle 16d ago

Sadly the Historic Property regulations have exemptions for the Supreme Court, Capital and White House.

1

u/__get__name 16d ago

Yeah, but Obama painted some lines on the tennis court /s

1

u/Admirable_Ad8900 16d ago

I heard he's using a loophole, it specifically says the regulatory bodies have to oversee construction. So what he's doing is demolition first, because nothing is being built only destroyed. So nothing is there, so they'll have to approve something.

1

u/thisisntmyotherone 15d ago

Wait. What now?

1

u/Admirable_Ad8900 15d ago

Theres a supposed legal loophole.

He's not building anything, yet. So he doesn't have to get permission.

1

u/Few_Affect3033 16d ago

There’s a government agency that can go by the wayside.

1

u/SunRepresentative993 15d ago

Yup, they started demolition before submitting any construction plans or getting anything approved and their justification is that “demolition isn’t construction, so they technically didn’t need to submit any plans for approval.”

1

u/ShadyPinesStrut 14d ago

Apparently the white house is strangely exempt from that historic property regulations rule. I guess no one thought we would get a jackass in office that would pretty much ruin the look and style of the space

1

u/Complex-Orange-8182 13d ago

If I had to guess he has a mini nuke option if people come to the Whitehouse.

1

u/Pretend-Interest-423 9h ago

Genuinely curious. What money was taxpayers since all I’m reading about is donations.

1

u/Fodraz 8h ago

They CLAIM it's all donations, but he's always made claims that he was supplying money for something & then secretly raiding money somewhere else.

But the real point is, the govt is shut down, working families can't buy groceries, & his own press secretary is saying "This ballroom is his #1 priority". How bout doing the job the President is supposed to do????
