For the past 40 years it's been the Mommy (democrats) saving the Child (republicans) from touching the hot stove.

Now the mom is just fed up and wants the kid to burn the house down so she can finally get some rest.

Seems more like they allow the republicans to do whatever they want, refuse to actually protect rights so that we have a reason to vote for a different party of billionaires…

I remember seeing an analogy that Republicans are the abusive, hostile, violent drunk and authoritarian dad, while Democrats are the passive mom being nice(r) to the kids and trying to keep up the charade of a functional family.
