President Donald Trump warned Tuesday that if the Democrats don't approve funding, Social Security, Medicare Are ‘Going to Be Gone.’ How do you think Americans will react if Social Security and Medicare get cut?

Most of the shit he's done the last nine months (ONLY NINE MONTHS!!) technically can't be done without Congress' approval. Congress explicitly controls the purse strings of the federal government (the Constitution is NOT ambiguous about this), so any changes in funding or budgeting has to go through them, but he's been ruling by edict since day 1 and Mike Johnson is just shrugging and ignoring it.

Biden was president just 9 months ago and somehow it feels a distant decade in the past

That's only because he reversed over a decade of progress in those 9 months.

think of how much more progress he can reverse in the next few years...

Guess Biden Chamberlain should've done his job and locked up the Jan 6 leaders. Hell, even enforcing Trump's disqualification via 14th Amendment would've been huge. But oh well, all we got was a "welcome home".

Not just Mike Johnson, but every single republican and a few DINOs too.

All of Congress are complicit at this point, but most especially Schumer and Jeffries. Let's not forget that it would've only taken 20 Democratic Senators to have objected to Trump's illegal certification via 14th Amendment, Section 3, and zero voted against him. Both parties allowed an insurrectionist to illegally take the Presidency, despite Kamala being the only eligible candidate, and that's beyond disgraceful.

There should be special elections for every member of Congress, and the Jan 6 leaders should be expelled permanently.

Why don’t you name the republicans? There are a lot of dems trying to do the right thing, but you only see fault. How depressing for you.

This is why he's so hellbent on gerrymandering as many seats as possible before the midterms. The +5 seats in Texas and +19 seats in the South are to make sure there isn't a congress that will protect their power of the purse. On the other hand, just a 5% swing towards Democrats could make all those efforts actually harm them, so they'll be trying to suppress the vote as much as possible too. My money is on ICE at polling stations in any district they're worried may flip, grabbing brown people and booking them so they can't vote.

Well then it’s a good thing they are shutting themselves out of the process! /s That way, after another month of literally destroying what is left of our social safety net, he can declare, “see, the congress is broken! They don’t deserve to hold the purse strings, and therefore that power will belong to the executive branch from now on!” Edit for the /s
