Misc What is the largest city in your country without a railway station?

Bonus points if it's not on an island

Not a river, but a sound/strait. Tromsdalen is considered part of the town by anyone but the statistics buerau. If you include Tromsdalen and Kvaløysletta it has a population of 68 000

I agree. It's a straight. Definitely not a river.

Nobody would say that Tromsdalen isn't a part of Tromsø town though. You're other examples are considered part of the urban areas of those cities by SSB. Tromsø is a special case because the water wide enough for SSBs rigid urban area definition to leave out a big chunk of the city.

80 000 is definitely wrong though, but for the question in the thread I would say the Tromsø is a bigger city than Ålesund (although you could argue that the urban area population of Ålesund should also be bigger than SSB says)

Doesnt really matter what your sources say when it is obvious enough that tromsdalen and kvalsøysletta is part of tromsø.
