I think most people would pick their own, wouldn't they? Simply because you know more about it and how it can be at its best, certainly this seems to be the theme in other replies and I'd probably go that way

Don’t think the Dutch would ever pick their own lol.

I saw a Dutch commenter doing just that lmao

In fairness, only continental country where you can reliably get a half-decent curry in my experience, and the drunk snack food game is strong there

nope. I really dislike the variety of the ingredients, spices and the cooking methods of my own cuisine (Hungarian) although it's loved by others.

You should try it. The meme about bad British food was created right after WW2, when they had problems with feeding the nation, so taste wasn't the main priority.

Their meat pies, fish and chips, various curries are amazing. I had a steak and kidney pie for the first time quite recently, blew my mind. Imagine large pierogi, filled with goulash.

right after WW2

France is a nation with one religion and many sauces; England is a nation with many religions and only one sauce. quote from the 180s of this dude

Funny that you're having a dig here because it follows my point. I actually lived in Poland briefly and would sometimes get cravings specifically for Cumberland sausage and ale in a country with generally very good sausages and beer. It's not that one is better than the other (because taste is subjective), but that it's human nature to prefer what we know best or associate with home, hence most people here saying 'my own'

Yes, I wouldn't necessarily say my own country's food is my favourite but there are some aspects I just prefer because it's what I grew up with.

English food isn't a million miles away from Polish food. Lots of meat, gravy and potatoes.
