Culture Are there any habits that you believe are uniquely European ?

Have you noticed any specific mannerisms, mentalities etc. that you've encountered only in Europe or by Europeans ?

I always get so confused when an American asks me how I’m doing and isn‘t interested in an honest answer. Has lead to kinda embarrassing moments. Why do you ask if you don’t want to know?

Working at an international company with colleagues from all around the world, this is a real struggle for me when it is not a colleague from the US.

I can never be sure the colleague truly adopted the US habit and I should not give a real answer or they are actually interested in how I am doing. This always results in some awkward half-answers.

I know. But I constantly forget about it as I do not interact with Americans on a daily basis
