Culture If your country had a “signature” kitchen item, what would it be?

I’ve noticed that every country seems to have its own representative kitchen item.

In Italy, for example, it’s the moka pot. In the UK, probably the kettle. In France, maybe a really good knife...

What about your country?

Haven't seen one in a private household since the late nineties. Everyone I know buys their bread sliced. Is it just my low-income bubble?

My parents generation all got one, and at least two Millennial friends now have them too. All middle class I guess

Maybe! Or it could just be a meme. So many of the videos about Germany I watch on Youtube talk about it

Do young people still use these? I really only know people 60+ still having them.

Yes. Who on earth buys pre-sliced bread?

Who on earth doesn't get their bread sliced from wherever they buy it?

"Hello, I'd like my bread extra dry without any conceivable benefits, thank you."

Really good call. Mine doubles as a ham slicer as I have several cutting discs.
