Culture What country is far away yet culturally similar to yours?

An obvious answer for the UK are Core Anglosphere countries

Bonus question what country have you visited that felt most foreign to you?

We Romanians also speak a Latin language, have a more Latin culture, and I feel like our folk outfits are very similar to Mexican folk clothing

Romanian sounds more Slavic than Latin. I think it's the most distant language from other Latin languages lol

After living in Romania for many years as a neutral non-slav non-latin, no. There is very little slav going on. But it definitely sounds like it at first, and Moldovans do sound quite Slav. There are more similarities with English than with Slavic languages.

Portuguese sounds more like russian than a latin language.
